  • Publication number: 20030170440
Abstract: The transport member of the present invention is a laminate of skin and core layers made of CFRP. The skin layer comprises a prepreg made of a pitch type carbon fiber, oriented by −20° to +20° with respect to a longitudinal direction (X-axis direction) of the transport member, having a tensile elasticity of 500 to 1000 GPa; and a prepreg of PAN type carbon fiber, oriented by +75° to +90° and/or −75° to −90° with respect to the longitudinal direction, having a tensile elasticity of 200 to 400 GPa. As a consequence, a transport member which is light in weight, easy to handle, while being excellent in its bending rigidity, vibration damping characteristic, and heat resistance can be obtained.

  • Publication number: 20030170031
Abstract: The present invention provides a bilateral communication network system, particularly, a optical wireless communication system communicating information frames via an optical node mounted on a mobile object and a plurality of optical repeaters connected to a wired network, which can prevent transfer performance from deteriorating without increasing frames to be transferred. The optical wireless communication system is constituted as follows. A plurality of the optical repeaters having functions to switch information frames are attached to a ceiling. The optical node bilaterally communicating with the optical repeaters are mounted on a moving object such as a robot, a vehicle or the like. Information frames including address information of the optical node are periodically transmitted from an information processor connected to the optical node via optical wireless communication.

  • Publication number: 20030054131
Abstract: This invention provides a carrier member made of a UV resistant fiber-reinforced composite material where a UV resistant coating material is applied on the surface of the fiber-reinforced composite material and a process for producing thereof. A preferable fiber-reinforced composite material is a fiber-reinforced plastic or carbon fiber-reinforced carbon composite material. A UV resistant coating material is one or more selected from the group consisting of ceramics, cermets, metals and alloys. The carrier member is produced by coating the surface of the fiber-reinforced composite material with a UV resistant coating material by spraying. This carrier member is advantageous in that it can exhibit properties inherent to a fiber-reinforced composite material such as a light weight, higher rigidity and higher heat resistance and that it little contaminates a precision instrument material when being used in cleansing with UV.

  • Publication number: 20030054151
Abstract: An object is to provide a component made of CFRP for use in a conveyor, which component has been treated so as to hardly pollute precision apparatus components while making the best use of lightweight properties and high rigidity both inherent in CFRP, and a method of treating the component. A CFRP component for use in a conveyor, whose processed surface is coated with a resin which is resistant to a polar solvent and which cures at a low temperature of 90° C. or less. A method of coating a CFRP component for use in a conveyor, which comprises applying the resin diluted to be in a concentration of 5 to 60% by weight with a solvent onto a processed surface of the CFRP component for a conveyor, and then curing the resin applied at 90° C. or less.

  • Publication number: 20020180104
Abstract: A robot hand member mounted on an arm unit of an industrial robot and a method of producing the same, wherein there are successively executed a step of laminating prepreg sheets each containing a reinforcing fiber on the outer peripheral surface of a core member having a predetermined shape in cross section, a step of heating the laminated prepreg sheets to a predetermined temperature to thermally set, to form a fiber reinforced plastic, and a step of removing the core member from the fiber reinforced plastic to obtain a hollow structure.

  • Patent number: 5783417
Abstract: A DNA fragment encoding a novel human-derived tumor cell growth inhibitor can be obtained from a cDNA library originating from human colon tumor cell, using as a DNA probe a DNA fragment encoding mouse human-derived tumor cell growth inhibitor. An expression plasmid bearing a promoter originating from Bacillus brevis, a signal peptide originating from Bacillus brevis and a DNA fragment encoding human-derived tumor cell growth inhibitor downstream of the signal peptide is constructed and Bacillus brevis is transformed by the expression plasmid. The resulting transformant is incubated to secret the novel inhibitor out of the cell so that the novel inhibitor can be produced efficiently.
