  • Patent number: 7506137
Abstract: Techniques for adding more complex instructions and their attendant multi-cycle execution units with a single instruction multiple data stream (SIMD) very long instruction word (VLIW) processing framework are described. In one aspect, an initiation mechanism also acts as a resynchronization mechanism to read the results of multi-cycle execution. This multi-purpose mechanism operates with a short instruction word (SIW) issue of the multi-cycle instruction, in a sequence processor (SP) alone, with a VLIW, and across all processing elements (PEs) individually or as an array of PEs. A number of advantageous floating point instructions are also described.

  • Publication number: 20090063724
Abstract: Details of a highly cost effective and efficient implementation of a manifold array (ManArray) architecture and instruction syntax for use therewith are described herein. Various aspects of this approach include the regularity of the syntax, the relative ease with which the instruction set can be represented in database form, the ready ability with which tools can be created, the ready generation of self-checking codes and parameterized test cases. Parameterizations can be fairly easily mapped and system maintenance is significantly simplified.

  • Patent number: 7464004
Abstract: In a support service for computing devices or software (or other service), a determination is made based on an incident report that additional data is needed. A first template is chosen from a set of templates and that chosen first template is customized for the particular incident to create a data collection plan. The data collection plan includes a set of data collection items. The data collection plan is forwarded to a user client device associated with the incident report. At the user client device, a user can choose to proceed with all or a subset of the data collection items. Data is then collected for the selected data collection items. The user is then provided with the opportunity to select which of the collected data to upload back to the support service. The collected data is then uploaded, and the incident status is updated and made available.

  • Publication number: 20080228801
Abstract: A method and system are provided for hierarchical data warehousing in a context-variable data framework. The method includes building a context-variable data framework. The context-variable data framework comprises 1) a data point of interest 2) one or more contextual hierarchies based on a type for the data point of interest, and 3) an organizational hierarchy. The method further includes populating the context-variable data framework with information relating to the data point of interest. The method also includes storing the context-variable data framework and the information in a centrally accessible data store.

  • Publication number: 20080150172
Abstract: The tray has an infusion field of infusion tab valves adjacent the inlet to dissipate the momentum of the liquid flowing across said infusion field. Each valve includes a vertically upstanding wall of a height to obstruct the flow of liquid and the valves are disposed in a staggered array. An adjacent bubbling area has openings for the passage of an ascending flow of vapor into contact with the liquid/vapor mixture flowing across the area. Each infusion tab valve may also have a push valve incorporated therein.

  • Publication number: 20080110845
Abstract: A magnetic core actuator includes a housing, formed of a non-magnetic material, having a generally tubular shape; a coil, which includes a left hand portion and a right hand portion, wherein each portion, when energized, generates a magnetic field wherein the magnetic fields generated by the left hand portion and the right hand portion have like fields facing one another; and a pair of magnetic armatures, including a left hand armature and a right hand armature, retained in said housing, wherein said magnetic armatures are mounted with like poles facing one another within said housing, said magnetic armatures being driven to opposite ends of said housing by their magnetic fields, and said armatures being shifted towards the center of said housing when power is applied to said coil. As used in a model railroad car, a linkage mechanism extends between the magnetic core actuator and a coupler on a model rail road car for shifting the coupler between its coupled condition and its uncoupled condition.

  • Publication number: 20080097626
Abstract: An automation control system can be efficiently developed and maintained as a hierarchical arrangement of configured components that pass process control parameters received from a control component and return reports back to the control component. In particular, control components compare a current configuration to a validated, saved configuration in order to report a configuration status as to whether a process can be conducted as validated. Yet, changes to the configuration of the automation control system that do not affect a validated portion do not preclude continued validated processing.

  • Publication number: 20080018003
Abstract: The valve for a contract tray employs an aperture in a deck that is of rectangular or trapezoidal shape with upstanding walls at the sides of the aperture. The valve body is disposed in the aperture with a cover above the aperture and legs that extend downwardly to interfit with at least the upstream end of the walls to block the liquid flow. The valve body may be fixed or movable. In the movable embodiment, the valve body is seated on the walls about the aperture to close the aperture. The ascending vapor lifts the valve to allow bubbling of the vapor in the liquid on the deck.

  • Publication number: 20080010142
Abstract: A marketing and database indexing tool for promotion of existing web sites is disclosed. The web site marketing tool, through the creation, generation, optimization and standardization of graphical site maps, is capable of driving traffic from search engines to call to action pages, which is then capable of increasing the response rate of a web site. With the addition of a site map tool, web site content can be standardized for creating the highest level of relevancy with search engines. The site map tool is capable of distributing page relevancy from a site's best page to every page of the web site. Thus, the disclosed marketing and database indexing tool increases the visibility of each web site page and improves the ROI (return on investment) of online marketing.
