  • Patent number: 6241297
Abstract: The invention comprises a collapsible panel carrying stick having a dual pair of elongated stick sections adapted to be extended into end to end relation with one another. The lowermost stick section has a projecting flange for insertion beneath a panel such as a dry wall panel. The uppermost stick section has a handle for carrying the stick with the panel thereon. The upper two stick sections are slidably retractable toward one another and the lower two sections are slidably retractable toward one another. The middle two stick sections are pivotally connected to one another to pivot toward one another with the sections retracted to collapse the stick sections into a smaller compact position for easier carrying.

  • Patent number: 5758028
Abstract: A fuzzy logic load management controller for use with a computer image generator. The load management controller is used use with a computer image generator having a plurality of inputs and a plurality of outputs, and includes an adder that couples inputs to the image generator. The load management controller comprises a fuzzy logic controller disposed in a feedback loop between the output of the image generator and the adder. The load management controller includes a fuzzy logic inference engine, a set of membership functions coupled to the inference engine, and a rules database coupled to the inference engine that includes a set of if-then rules that specify the response of the fuzzy logic controller to inputs applied thereto. The fuzzy logic controller provides for load management of the image generator that gracefully degrades a viewed scene, keeps the image update rate constant, and renders important objects in the viewed scene.

  • Patent number: 5247982
Abstract: A pneumatic device for seating the beads of a tubeless tire onto the bead area of a tubeless wheel or rim, comprising a pneumatic pipe having a first end portion and a second end portion and shaped in the form of an arc from the first end portion to the second end portion; a first handle attached to the first end portion of the pipe for providing a stabilizing hand grip at the first end portion of the pipe; a pneumatic valve attached to the second end portion of the pipe for selectively communicating the pipe with a source of compressed air, and including a second handle for providing a stabilizing hand grip at the second end portion of the pipe; and pneumatic openings in the arc-shaped portion of the pipe communicating with the valve and positioned to direct compressed air into the gap between an unseated tubeless tire bead and the bead area of the wheel or rim upon which the bead is to be seated.

  • Patent number: 4797220
Abstract: The present invention relates to a chemical composition which, when made into an aqueous solution according to the method of the present invention, liberates gaseous molecular oxygen and carbon dioxide from oxides and carbonates while simultaneously sequestering various metal ions. The chemical composition of the present invention consists generally of a mixture of (i) a hydroxycarboxylic acid; (ii) an alcohol; and (iii) an alkanolamine.

  • Patent number: 4067178
Abstract: Apparatus serving the combined functions of maintaining a grove or orchard in properly trimmed as well as topped condition, comprising a vehicle adapted for movement along the ground in a direction essentially parallel to and adjacent a row of trees. A generally U-shaped structural member is operably mounted upon the vehicle, with this member having a pair of arms, one disposed on each side of the vehicle, and with the base portion interconnecting these arms being disposed at a forward location on the vehicle. The end of each arm remote from the base portion is rotatably mounted to an attachment point located on the frame of the vehicle, and devices such as actuators are utilized for bringing about selected movements of these arms about their attachment points, thus to change the effective height of the base portion with respect to the ground. The base portion serves as the mounting for a pair of booms, upon each of which, a multiplicity of saw blades are mounted.
