  • Publication number: 20210398169
Abstract: Methods for providing contextual information about communication devices and/or services. Profile information indicating a user's communication devices and/or services is stored. When profile information or a message log is displayed, the user may identify a communication device and/or service. A query inquires whether the user would like contextual information. The contextual information may be obtained from a gateway in a data network or a telecommunications manager in a telecommunication network. The contextual information is displayed. Profile information about a user's communicating partner may be stored. When the user makes an effort to communicate with the partner, a check may be made of the partner's profile information for a preferred communication device and/or service. If the user does not have a communication device and/or service corresponding to that of the communicating partner, a query may inquire whether the user would like contextual information.

  • Patent number: 11159460
Abstract: Event management operations are enabled. The operations can include receiving a request to manage an event on behalf of an event sponsor identity associated with an event sponsor, the request including event information including a description of the event, invitee identities associated with invitees to the event and invitee contact information associated with the invitees, generating an event invitation message including the description of the event and an instruction for responding to the event invitation message, directing the event invitation message to be sent to the invitee contact information associated with the invitees, determining that responses to the event invitation message have been received from a set of the invitees, generating an event update message based on a sorting of the responses from the set of the invitees, and directing the event update message to be sent to sponsor contact information associated with the event sponsor.

  • Patent number: 11100096
Abstract: A method includes receiving, at an analysis server from a user device, a keyword associated with content of interest. The method includes retrieving, at the analysis server from a database, searchable tag data for first searchable tags in the database. Each searchable tag of the searchable tags corresponds to a segment of stored media content. The stored media content is associated with the user device. The first searchable tags pertain to the keyword. The searchable tag data includes an initial relevancy score and a corresponding aging factor for each first searchable tag of the first searchable tags. The method also includes generating, at the analysis server, a list of media content segments based on the searchable tag data and sending the list from the analysis server to the user device. The list is ordered based on the initial relevancy scores modified by the corresponding aging factors.

  • Patent number: 10810620
Abstract: Dynamic event-based content distribution is facilitated. In one embodiment, a method comprises evaluating, by a device comprising a processor and communicatively coupled to a content node device of content node devices, a criterion to select content of a plurality of content to present from the content node device to a mobile device, wherein the criterion and selected content are associated with a time-limited event, the time-limited event occurring independent of the mobile device. The method also includes selecting, by the device, a value of values for the selected content, wherein the selected value is based on first geographical information for the time-limited event and second geographical information for the mobile device. The method also includes generating, by the device, information to cause the content node device to present, to the mobile device, the selected content with the selected value, wherein the generating is based on the evaluating and the selecting.

  • Patent number: 10798122
Abstract: Systems and methods are presented which generate modified email messages, which are largely devoid of embedded functions, from original email messages, which have embedded functions. The embedded functions are amenable to self-executing codes such as viruses, worms, and Trojan programs. Thus, the modified email message without these embedded functions, and any argument associated with these functions, provides a more secure email environment.

  • Patent number: 10673858
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, systems and articles of manufacture (e.g., physical storage media) to authenticate a first device for access to a first service provider are disclosed. Example methods disclosed herein include sending, by executing a first instruction with a processor at a first service provider, an authentication request from the first service provider to a second service provider. The authentication request is generated in response to an access request from the first device and includes an identification code assigned to the first device by the second service provider. Example methods also include obtaining, at the first service provider, an authentication response from the second service provider. The authentication response is generated by the second service provider in response to the authentication request. Example methods further include, based on the authentication response, granting, by executing a second instruction with the processor, the first device access to the first service provider.

  • Patent number: 10331661
Abstract: A method includes identifying, at a computing device, multiple segments of video content based on a context sensitive term. Each segment of the multiple segments is associated with captioning data of the video content. The method also includes determining, at the computing device, first contextual information of a first segment of the multiple segments based on a set of factors. The method further includes comparing the first contextual information to particular contextual information that corresponds to content of interest. The method further includes in response to a determination that the first contextual information matches the particular contextual information, storing a first searchable tag associated with the first segment.

  • Publication number: 20190191205
Abstract: Devices, computer-readable media, and methods for presenting a secondary content in connection with a presentation of a video program on a primary screen device are disclosed. For example, a processing system may receive a timed event metadata set associated with a video program, receive a timestamp associated with the video program from a primary screen device, and detect that the timestamp matches a timed event record from the timed event metadata set. The processing system may additionally access a secondary content in accordance with the timed event record in response to the detecting and present the secondary content on a screen of the device.
