    Abstract: There is provided a a respiratory gas delivery and sampling system, a gas sampling system, a gas sampling interface and a gas sampling tip that may be used to sample exhaled and/or expired gases from a patient, particularly from a patient who is apnoeic and/or who is receiving high flow respiratory therapy. The gas sampling system comprises a respiratory gas monitor in fluid communication with the gas sampling interface, which comprises the gas sampling tip of the invention. The gas sampling interface comprises a gas sampling conduit and the gas sampling tip is located at a free end of the conduit. The gas sampling interface may be configured to allow the gas sampling tip to be selectively positioned at or in the mouth or a nare of the patient's nose.

    Abstract: A respiratory assistance system can provide high flow therapy to patients. The respiratory assistance system can include a patient interface that can deliver a gas flow to a patient and a gas source that can drive the gas flow towards the patient interface at an operating flow rate. The system can include a controller for controlling the operating flow rate of the gas. The controller can apply multiple test flow rate values in a range as the operating flow rate. For each of the test flow rate values, the controller can measure a patient parameter. The controller can determine a new flow rate value based on the measured patient parameters. Patient parameters can include respiration rate, work of breathing, or any other parameters related to the respiratory circuit.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus for modifying an existing style fuel tank to add a fuel pump and a baffle assembly in the tank comprises removing an existing fuel sending unit from a sending unit opening and cutting an access hole in the top of the tank. Fuel supply and return lines, and electrical connections for the fuel pump are routed through a replacement cap for covering the sending unit opening and not up through the hole created for insertion of the pump and baffle assembly. The baffle assembly includes a cup for holding fuel around and over the fuel pickup connected to the fuel pump. The cup may be formed from a compressible material to allow it to be compressed before insertion into the tank through the access opening or it may be assembled inside of the tank from segments inserted through the access opening.

    Abstract: A siphoning assembly for a fuel supply system comprises an adaptor body with a pressurized fuel inlet, a suction inlet and an outlet and an outlet passageway connecting the pressurized fuel inlet and the suction inlet to the outlet. A venturi nozzle extends in-line with the pressurized fuel inlet and opens into a suction chamber to create a pressure drop for pulling in fuel from the suction inlet which also opens into the suction chamber. The outlet passageway forming a liquid trap between the suction chamber and the outlet. The siphoning assembly may include a pressure relief valve connected to the pressurized fuel inlet formed as a bypass line of the pressurized fuel supply line. The siphoning assembly may be used in conjunction with an apparatus for modifying a fuel tank to add a fuel pump and baffle assembly which may include one-way check valves.

The boss has a low portion that is no thicker than the replaceable blade and a raised portion that extends above the surface of the replaceable blade. The blade lock pivots on the blade holder between an opened position for receiving the replaceable blade and a closed position for retaining the replaceable blade. The blade lock also includes an opening for receiving the boss of the blade holder.
