Patent number: 8726704Abstract: A shelf device comprises an enclosed frame that includes a plurality of members, a concealed compartment within the frame, and a locking system that includes a locking mechanism comprising a slide bolt and magnetic lift positioned perpendicularly within the slide bolt, a ledge that is engaged with the slide bolt when the locking system is locked, and a magnet. The magnetic lift moves in one direction to cause the slide bolt to move perpendicularly to the magnetic lift's direction as the slide bolt disengages or engages with the ledge to unlock or lock the shelf, respectively. In one embodiment, a rare earth magnet is aligned with the magnetic lift to pull the magnetic lift vertically upward causing the slide bolt to move horizontally backward to disengage the slide bolt from the ledge. Consequently, the shelf is opened as one or more frame members are released to expose the concealed compartment.Type: GrantFiled: July 24, 2012Date of Patent: May 20, 2014Inventor: Brian Dale White

Publication number: 20140124436Abstract: A grit removal unit including an influent channel directing wastewater with grit into a round grit removal chamber and an effluent channel receives wastewater output from the chamber. A divider wall extends upwardly between the sides of the influent channel, and gates at the upstream end of the divider wall are adjustable to selectively open channel portions on opposite sides of the divider wall. An output guide member is mounted to allow selective adjustment of output flow opening width ācā to the effluent channel. The output guide member has a horizontal bottom extending from the chamber into the effluent channel across the width of the output opening, and a guide wall extending upwardly from the guide member bottom. The guide wall has a forward end spaced from the chamber annular vertical wall to define the output flow opening width therebetween.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 15, 2013Publication date: May 8, 2014Applicant: SMITH & LOVELESS INC.Inventors: Francis M. Patent number: 7296019Abstract: A system and methods are provided for runtime spelling analysis and correction in a computing system. Misspelled entries or input text is automatically corrected turning the misspelled entries or input text into valid entries or text. The words used for spell checking and correction may be collected through multiple channels or from multiple sources, including words commonly found on the Web, and in users' entries or input text, as well as words from a standard language lexicon, all of which may be in one or more languages. The word(s) are automatically corrected only when there is a very high confidence that the correction is desirable. In various embodiments, the system implements a plurality of mechanisms with which the user can override the correction if invoked.Type: GrantFiled: October 25, 2004Date of Patent: November 13, 2007Assignee: Microsoft CorporationInventors: Raman Chandrasekar, Ray Sun, Thomas Dale White, Zhanliang Chen

Patent number: 6827380Abstract: A manipulating arm has an inward end configured as a sleeve for fitting around the forearm of an operator and an outward end having a tubular projection with an axially moving rod slideable therein. The rod has a hook at the outward end thereof for grasping razor ribbon, and is moveable between a retracted position and an extended position and is urged to the extended position by a spring. The distal end of the rod extends from the outward tubular member and is configured as a hook. The device includes a handle oriented perpendicular to the axis of the tube and a moveable trigger that can be grasped by the fingers of the operator while his palm is against the handle. Retracting the trigger retracts the rod within the tubular member, compresses the spring, and closes the hook of the claw around a piece of razor ribbon so that it can be positioned by the operator.Type: GrantFiled: November 12, 2002Date of Patent: December 7, 2004Assignee: Peerless Enterprises, Inc.Inventor: Dale White

Patent number: 6643367Abstract: A method to efficiently allocate telephony resources on a scheduled and dynamic basis, without requiring the shutting down and restarting of a telephony system, comprising the application of two algorithms, one to respond to dynamic changes in resource allocation and on to respond to scheduled resource allocation. The two algorithms work in conjunction with one another to determine the optimum configuration with which to allocate the system's resources, depending upon the estimated demand at a given time of day, and depending upon the actual demand at any given point in time. The method also makes provision for the modification and/or deactivation of the algorithms, and the manual allocation of resources, all by an operator.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1999Date of Patent: November 4, 2003Assignee: Intel CorporationInventor: Dale White-Hauser

Publication number: 20010027334Abstract: A cooling container has a pillow-like portion with a chamber for receiving ice or another cooling medium, and a connected pad-like portion having passages and a reservoir for receiving water from the ice. The chamber has a sufficiently large opening through which all of the ice or other cooling medium to be placed in the chamber can be substantially contemporaneously passed into the chamber via the opening. In one example of use, the pillow-like portion cools a user's head and neck, and the pad-like portion cools the user's upper torso.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 8, 2001Publication date: October 4, 2001Inventor: Anthony Dale White

Patent number: 4347442Abstract: The invention pertains to electric starter motors for internal combustion engines, particularly motors used with smaller engines such as employed to power lawn mowers, snow blowers, lawn tractors and similar equipment. The motor housing is formed of a dielectric material as to be doubly electrically insulated for protection against electrical shock, the motor casing features simplify assembly of the field coil within the casing, and the motor armature shaft portion and starter pinion shaft portion are formed as two components, rather than the usual one piece, permitting separate heat treatment and eliminating the need for shaft straightening after hardening as required when the armature and pinion shaft are homogeneously formed.Type: GrantFiled: July 14, 1980Date of Patent: August 31, 1982Assignee: Eaton Stamping CompanyInventors: Dale A.
