  • Patent number: 11767097
Abstract: A general mounting method for ducted fan propulsors is disclosed. This mounting method uses extremely slender stators that connect the duct ring to the propulsor which is mounted in the middle and drives the rotor, fan or propeller. The slender stators take the form of spokes and as such are so slender that the midspan stresses within the spokes are dominated by axial tension loads rather than the shear loads experienced by conventional stators. The spokes may have an aerodynamic shape and damping methods may be used to retard spoke vibrations and transmission of engine vibrations to the duct and force. The duct itself is also stiffened by the spoke arrangement, thereby reducing low frequency vibration modes.

  • Publication number: 20230266501
Abstract: A methodology for spatially identifying conductive regions using pressure transience for characterizing conductive fractures and subsurface regions is provided. Hydraulic fracturing is utilized to create fractures within a reservoir, thereby increasing fluid permeability of the reservoir and permitting hydrocarbon fluids to flow into a wellbore and subsequently to be produced from the hydrocarbon reservoirs. The geometry, dimensions, and extent of the fractures may significantly impact the production characteristics of the well. However, given that fractures are thousands of feet below the surface, measuring the properties of the fractures can be difficult. In order to characterize the fractures, including determining locations of conductive fractures in the subsurface, sensors are positioned in monitoring wells. Pressure changes are then induced in a well, with the sensors measuring the effect of the pressure changes.

  • Patent number: 11730079
Abstract: An agricultural planting implement includes a number of row units. The row units include one or more seed meters for receiving, singulating, and dispensing seed to the ground such that preferred spacing of subsequent seed is attained. A seed meter provides seeds one at time to a seed carrier, such as a brush wheel. The brush wheel may move the seeds one at a time to a seed conveyor by directly moving seeds along a curved portion of a seed disc in the seed meter. The seed conveyor may be a flighted belt, and the velocity of the seeds when transferred from the seed carrier may match the velocity of the flighted belt. The seed conveyor conveys the seeds to a position near the bottom of a furrow, and ejects the seeds with little or no horizontal velocity relative to the bottom of the furrow.
