    Abstract: There is provided a self-regulating sprinkling nozzle attachable to a liquid-carrying line. The nozzle comprises a housing, a vortex chamber inside the housing, a vortex-producing inlet means through which the liquid enters the vortex chamber. One wall of the chamber is constituted by a first surface of a stretchable diaphragm and the opposite wall of the chamber is provided with an aperture leading to the atmosphere. The second surface of the diaphragm is exposed to line pressure. The nozzle also comprises rotor disposed in a drive space and means entrained and set spinning by the vortex. A shaft portion of the rotor means passes through the aperture, and a liquid-throwing member is fixedly attached to, and spun by, the shaft portion as a result of the action of the vortex on the rotor means.

    Abstract: There is provided an in-line, two-stage, variable-bypass injector pump for controllably admixing a secondary fluid to a main fluid. The pump comprises a housing connectable into a pipe line carrying the main fluid and a main venturi extending along the central axis of the housing having an entrance and a throat and exit portion. The pump also includes a secondary venturi off center but substantially parallel to the central axis. The exit portion of the secondary venturi leads into the throat portion of the main venturi. One end of a connector leads into the throat portion of the secondary venturi and the other end of the connector is connectable to a source of the secondary fluid. An eccentrically located passage way permits a variable proportion of the main fluid to flow from one end of the housing to the other end thereof, while bypassing the main venturi. The bypassed flow is controlled by means of a shutter between a maximum and zero flow.

    Abstract: There is provided a self-regulating nozzle for a liquid supply line. The nozzle comprises a nozzle body attachable to the line, a vortex chamber within the body and a vortex producing inlet means through which the liquid in the line enters the vortex chamber. One wall of the vortex chamber is constituted by the surface of a stretchable diaphragm, the opposite wall of the chamber is provided with an aperture leading to the consumer and the other surface of the diaphragm is exposed to line pressure. The arrangement is such that the vortex produced by the inlet means results in the creation of a low pressure zone on the surface of the diaphragm which is exposed to the vortex chamber and the effective cross section of the aperture is controlled by the stretching of the stretchable diaphragm.
