  • Patent number: 9094856
Abstract: Routing methods are provided for IP-based Iridium like LEO polar satellite constellation network for finding a Manhattan path between a source node and a destination node. The routing methods can include identification of congested inter satellite links (ISLs). By selecting and using uncongested alternative paths, an original routing process can be converted into sub-routing processes each in a small scale of a Manhattan path region. Quality of Service (QoS) requirements such as delays and jitters can be incorporated into the routing methods, which leads to efficient routing and enhanced QoS-performance over the satellite constellation network. The disclosed routing methods can be suitable for real-time routing/rerouting applications under dynamic network conditions.

  • Publication number: 20140340158
Abstract: Kickback current from a charge pump to a power management integrated circuit (PMIC) may be reduced by dissipating charge from fly and hold capacitors during mode transitions. A switch may be placed in series between the charge pump and the PMIC to disconnect the charge pump and prevent kickback current from reaching the PMIC. Further, additional loads, as switches, may be coupled to the charge pump outputs to dissipate charge from the fly and hold capacitors. Additionally, a closed feedback loop may be used to monitor and discharge excess charge from the fly and hold capacitors during mode transitions. Furthermore, charge may be redistributed between the fly and hold capacitors during mode transitions to reduce the time period of the transition.

  • Publication number: 20140294206
Abstract: An asymmetric modulation scheme may be used to drive two output nodes coupled to a load. The asymmetric modulation scheme may be one-sided such that the switching rate of a first output node is lower than the switching rate of a second output node. The first output node may be switched only to change a direction of current between the first output node and the second output node, while the second output node is switched to convey the information of an input signal. The asymmetric modulation scheme may be used to drive a speaker to reduce noise at the first output node to improve accuracy of current monitoring through the speaker by a current monitor coupled at the first output node.

  • Patent number: 8093951
Abstract: An audio switching power amplifier having an output pulse voltage selected in conformity with an indication of the output signal amplitude provides lower electromagnetic interference (EMI) in class-D amplifier implementations, in particular, in inductor-less designs. The output pulse voltage may be selected by providing multiple switching circuits, such as half or fully bridge switches, with each switching circuit connected to a different power supply. One of the switching circuits is activated by the switching controller, while the others are disabled, providing selection of the output pulse voltage. Selection of a lower pulse voltage, when the maximum voltage is not required, reduces the generated EMI. The switching frequency of the class-D amplifier may also be controlled in conformity with the output signal amplitude, so that at higher output levels a lower switching rate is selected, reducing the generated EMI.
