  • Patent number: 7975225
Abstract: Techniques enable locating a position within a file that corresponds to a desired seek time without having access to an index specifying the desired seek time's position. An iterative process may be used to estimate the position that corresponds to the desired seek time. The process may iterate through multiple estimations until a difference between a time corresponding to an estimated position and the desired seek time is within an acceptable amount or until the process reaches an iteration threshold. The file may then be played beginning at or near the desired seek time. The techniques may therefore allow a user to seek within a file while the user progressively downloads or streams the file.

  • Publication number: 20110159214
Abstract: A reaction chamber system, and related devices and methods for use in the system, are provided in which reduced power consumption can be achieved by providing a thin layer of gold on one or more components inside a reaction chamber. The reaction chamber system can be used for chemical vapor deposition. The gold coating should be maintained to a thickness of at least about 0.1 microns, and more preferably about 0.5 to 3.0 microns, to provide a suitable emissivity inside the reaction chamber, and thus reduce heat losses.

  • Publication number: 20110158144
Abstract: A method for controlling sleep mode of a base station and a mobile station in wireless communication networks, including: determining N of the N-ary exponential sleep mode to decide a length of sleep duration including a sleep interval; measuring downlink traffic addressed to the mobile station at the beginning of a listening interval right after the sleep interval; and when there exist downlink traffic, confirming whether the measured downlink traffic satisfies a mode transition condition. The method further includes: conducting a sleep interval of the next sleep duration of which the length is determined by multiplying the length of the current sleep duration by N unless the downlink traffic satisfies the mode transition condition; and transmitting the downlink traffic to the mobile station when m times the additional consecutive sleep duration is expired or when the measured amount of the downlink traffic satisfies the mode transition condition.

  • Publication number: 20110160551
Abstract: A tachyarrhythmia detection and classification system classifies tachyarrhythmias based on an analysis of morphological features of a cardiac signal enhanced by using one or more physiological parameters indicative of hemodynamic stability and/or activity level. The tachyarrhythmia detection and classification system computes a measure of similarity between an arrhythmic waveform of the cardiac signal, a template waveform for that cardiac signal, such as a correlation coefficient representative of the correlation between morphological features of the arrhythmic waveform and morphological features of the template waveform. A detected tachyarrhythmia episode is classified by comparing the measure of similarity to a threshold that is dynamically adjusted using the one or more physiological parameters.

  • Publication number: 20110155119
Abstract: A system (100) for directing incident sun light to a receiver (150) based on an integral imager (116) is disclosed. The system includes an imager (116) mounted to a reflector (112); a tracking controller (226) coupled to the imager; and one or more actuators (114) connected to the reflector and tracking controller. The tracking controller (226) is configured to receive and process image data from the imager (116); determine angular positions of a radiation source and target relative to the mirror normal vector (N) based on the image data; and orient the reflector with the axis bisecting the angular positions of the sun and receiver (150). When the optical axis of the imager is precisely aligned with the vector normal to the reflector, the source and target will be detected as antipodal spots (320, 330) with respect to the center of the imager's field of view, which may be used to effectively track the sun or like object.
