  • Publication number: 20140267579
Abstract: Communication systems and methods for controlling audio communications between a relay service and an audio endpoint with a video endpoint are disclosed. A communication system comprises a relay service configured to engage in video communications with a video endpoint and audio communications with an audio endpoint. The relay service comprises a control circuit configured to receive call control signals from the video endpoint, and automatically control communications between the relay service and the audio endpoint responsive to the call control signals. A communication system includes a video endpoint comprising a user interface configured to transmit call commands to the relay service responsive to user inputs. The call commands are directed to automatically triggering controls at the relay service over audio communications between the relay service and the audio endpoint.

  • Patent number: 8755992
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for the processing and presentation of aviation information is disclosed. At plurality of flight information is received over a digital network and is stored in at least a database. The database includes aviation information. Upon receiving a user request, a server retrieves a result set from the database and transmits it to the requesting user. Subsequently, updates as to a flight identified in the request are transmitted at a selected rate, which may be modified automatically based on one flight characteristic, for subsequent display. In one form, the results may be presented to the user in the form of digital map having aircraft images.

  • Publication number: 20140123315
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for the processing and presentation of flight tracking data from a number of sources, with at least one source include a user access restriction, is disclosed. Substantially real-time flight tracking data is received over a digital network from a number of different sources and is stored in at least a database. Various determined flight paths are stores for a single flight based upon the number of flight data sources contributing data regarding that flight. Upon receiving a query from a user, the user's access with respect to the available data providers in retrieved and the best flight for the selected flight which is determined only from data that the requested user is authorized to access is presented. • Publication number: 20130325612
Abstract: A method of integrating a retailer's E-Commerce and Point of Sale presences is described. A database of shopper profiles is populated by a first server. The shopper profiles correspond to a plurality of shoppers. Each shopper profile corresponds to one or more shoppers accessing the retailer's E-Commerce presence over a first network. A geolocation of a first mobile device having an application that is associated with the retailer is identified. The mobile device is associated with a first shopper from the plurality of shoppers. A second server determines that the first shopper is geographically proximate to a brick and mortar presence associated with the retailer based on the identified geolocation. A promotion for the first customer redeemable while the first customer is at the retailer's brick and mortar presence is selected. A third server transmits the selected promotion to the mobile device of the first customer over a second network.

  • Publication number: 20130297103
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for the collection, filtering, and transmission of aviation information is disclosed. A plurality of flight information is received over a digital network at various remote locations, and the data is filtered prior to transmission to a central database for presentation and use. The database includes aviation information. The method of filtration is dynamically updated as to information concerning a specific flight based on one characteristic of the flight. As to aircraft being tracked, a determination is made as to which receiver should relay collected data, and that determination is periodically revised, such as to minimize transmission costs and maximize signal quality as aircraft positions change. Once the information is located in the central database, it is suitable for use in responding to user requests for flight tracking information is association with at least one identified flight.

  • Patent number: 8416943
Abstract: Disclosed is a method for distributing customer contacts to a transaction processing entity of a transaction processing system. The method includes determining a media type for a customer contact in the transaction processing system and finding a transaction processing entity that is capable of handling the media type. In addition, the method includes routing the customer contact to a transaction processing entity that is capable of handling the media type. In one embodiment, a transaction routing table is used to perform the distribution of customer contacts. It is emphasized that this abstract is provided to comply with the rules requiring an abstract that will allow a searcher or other reader to quickly ascertain the subject matter of the technical disclosure. It is submitted with the understanding that it will not be used to interpret or limit the scope or meaning of the claims. 37 CFR 1.72(b).

  • Publication number: 20130064611
Abstract: A decelerator device for apples or the like is disclosed. The apples are delivered to the decelerator device by a tube which can be provided with either a positive pressure upstream of the transported objects or a downstream of the transporter device. In one embodiment of the invention, the decelerator is provided with an area of reduced pressure in communication with the distal end of the transport tube. A receiving device such as a plurality of inter-engaged wheels receives the apples of other objects in the area of reduced pressure. The wheels or conveyors receive objects between opposed sealing surfaces, reduce the traveling speed of the object, and transport the object to an area of ambient pressure. The sealing surfaces are disengaged from the transported objects in the area of ambient pressure, and the objects are delivered to a transport path, dry bin, or other desired structure. In another embodiment of the invention, a counter flow of air reduces the speed of the object traveling along the tube.

  • Patent number: 8332136
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method for the processing and optimization of flight plans is disclosed. Information regarding a plurality of previous flight plans is received over a digital network and is stored in at least a database. The database preferably includes aviation fuel price information, aircraft performance information, and aviation weather information as well. Upon receiving a request, a server generates at least an optimized portion of a flight plan. In one form, historical flight plan data of others is automatically used to aid in the determination of the optimized route offered to the user for review, with the resulting final flight plan being electronically filed with the FAA upon approval. In a further form, the user may arrange fuel transactions at intermediate destinations with the service provider receiving a fee in exchange for facilitating the transaction.

  • Patent number: 8296281
Abstract: A computer-implemented system and method processes flight position information and provides a notification to a remote user in response to a triggering event. Typically, flight position data is received over a digital network. The service accepts requests for notification based upon the position of a specified flight and subsequently provides that notification based upon the flight position data. Upon receiving a user query, a server retrieves a result set from the flight position data and determines if the triggering criteria has been met. In one form, the requested notification may be presented to the user in the form of an e-mail, telephone call, text message or the like. Also disclosed is a system for flight tracking or planning which includes photographs supplied by remote users of the aircraft for which the tracking or planning is associated, for use by other remote users that see the association of the supplied photos with the tracked or planned flight.
