  • Patent number: 11144535
Abstract: An on-board recording system for a vehicle is disclosed. The on-board recording system is configured to monitor data for errors. The on-board recording system includes one or more processors and a memory coupled to the one or more processors. The memory stores data comprising a database and program code that, when executed by the processors, causes the on-board recording system to receive as input a data sequence including a plurality of frames. The frames are received and recorded by the on-board recorder at a corresponding assigned time offset and include a corresponding assigned message. The on-board recording system is further caused to determine a missing assigned message that has not been received at the corresponding assigned time offset. In response to determining the missing assigned message, the on-board recording system calculates a total length of time based on a number of missing assigned messages stored in the memory.

  • Publication number: 20210248254
Abstract: A bin syncing technique ensures continuous data protection, such as replication and erasure coding, for content driven distribution of data served by storage nodes of a cluster in the event of failure to one or more block services configured to process the data. The cluster maintains information about the block services assigned to host a bin with a copy of the data in a bin assignment table associated with a state. The copies of the data are named, e.g., replica 0 (R0), replica 1 (R1) or replica 2 (R2). In response to failure of one or more block services assigned to host a bin with a replica of the data, an alternate or replacement block service may access the assignments maintained in the bin assignment table, which specify names of the replicas associated with the state.

  • Patent number: 11079875
Abstract: A compact electronic device has a touch sensor and/or a microphone that are concealed within a housing at least partially wrapped by an acoustically porous cover. In some implementations, the touch sensor includes a sensing portion and a contact portion extending from the sensing portion. While the sensing portion is placed in proximity to an interior surface of the housing to detect a touch on the housing, the contact portion is bent to electrically couple the sensing portion to a circuit board via two distinct electrical paths. In some implementations, an exterior surface of the housing includes a sealing area surrounding an aperture on the housing, and the acoustically porous cover is affixed to the sealing area via an adhesive. The adhesive covers the sealing area and permeates a thickness of the acoustically porous cover, thereby enabling formation of a controlled sound path to access the microphone via the aperture.

  • Publication number: 20210232314
Abstract: A technique is configured to maintain multiple copies of data served by storage nodes of a cluster during upgrade of a storage node to ensure continuous protection of the data served by the nodes. The data is logically organized as one or more volumes on storage devices of the cluster and includes metadata that describe the data of each volume. A data protection system may be configured to maintain at least two copies of the data in the cluster during upgrade to a storage node that is assigned to host one of the copies of the data but that is taken offline during the upgrade. As a result, an original slice service of the node may be rendered unavailable during the upgrade. In response, the technique redirects replicated data targeted to the original slice service to a standby pool of slice services in accordance with a degraded redundant metadata service of the cluster.
