  • Publication number: 20190223104
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to wake up receiver (WUR) frequency division multiple access (FDMA) transmission. A device may cause to send a wake up receiver (WUR) beacon frame on a WUR beacon operating channel to one or more station devices. The device may determine a first wake-up frame to be sent on a first WUR operating channel, wherein the first WUR operating channel is associated with one or more frequency division multiple access (FDMA) channels used for transmitting one or more wake-up frames to the one or more station devices. The device may determine to apply padding to the first wake-up frame based on a field included in a header of the first wake-up frame. The device may cause to send the first wake-up frame to a first station device of the one or more station devices.

  • Publication number: 20190173625
Abstract: Embodiments of a station (STA), access point (AP) and method for aggregation of data packets are generally described herein. The AP may transmit a trigger frame (TF) to an STA that indicates an access class (AC) constraint parameter and a traffic identifier (TID) aggregation limit parameter. The STA may select a group of aggregate TIDs from which medium access control (MAC) protocol data units (MPDUs) may be aggregated into an aggregated MPDU (A-MPDU). The AC constraint parameter may indicate a recommended AC from which at least a portion of the aggregate TIDs are to be selected. The TID aggregation limit parameter may indicate a number of TIDs to be selected for the group of aggregate TIDs.

  • Publication number: 20190069176
Abstract: Methods and systems for authenticated wake-up radio frames are disclosed. In one aspect, a method includes generating a wake-up radio (WUR) integrity group key (IGTK) for authentication of WUR frames when received by a wake-up radio (WURx). The WUR IGTK may be identified via a key identifier in the WUR frame. The key identifier may be updated when the WUR IGTK is updated, facilitating WUR IGTK key updating across multiple associated stations.

  • Publication number: 20190045451
Abstract: Logic may implement protocols and procedures to suspend a wake-up radio mode. Logic may enter a wake-up radio (WUR) mode suspend with a WUR request indicative of the WUR mode suspend. Logic may enter the WUR mode suspend from a WUR mode with a one-way handshake and may exit from the WUR mode to the WUR mode suspend. Logic may negotiate WUR mode parameters without entering the WUR mode. Logic may default to a WUR mode or a WUR mode suspend in response to receipt of a wake-up packet. Logic may receive the WUR request frame with a WUR mode suspend field to request entry into a WUR mode suspend. Furthermore, logic may maintain negotiated WUR mode parameters during the WUR mode suspend.

  • Publication number: 20190045444
Abstract: This disclosure describes systems, methods, and devices related to wake-up radio (WUR) advertisement channels. A device may include a wake-up receiver (WURx) and a primary connectivity radio. The device may determine a wake-up radio (WUR) discovery subchannel for WUR advertisement. The WUR discovery subchannel may be associated with a channel of a frequency band. The device may generate a WUR discovery frame comprising a WUR advertisement. The device may transmit, by the WURx, the WUR discovery frame to a second device using the WUR discovery subchannel. The device may identify a response from the second device indicating an acknowledgment of the WUR discovery frame.

  • Patent number: 9942922
Abstract: Apparatuses, computer readable media, and methods for restricting enhanced distributed coordination access (EDCA) in a high-efficiency wireless local-area network (HEW) are disclosed. The apparatus of a HEW station may include processing circuitry and transceiver circuitry. The processing circuitry and transceiver circuitry may be configured to configure the HEW station for operation in enhanced distributed coordinated access (EDCA) restricted mode, where in EDCA restricted mode the HEW station is configured to refrain from EDCA packet transmission. The processing circuitry and transceiver circuitry may be further configured to configure the HEW station for operation in non-EDCA restricted mode where in non-EDCA restricted mode the HEW station is configured to: increase a EDCA attempt failure counter when acknowledgement of an EDCA-transmitted packet is not received within a predetermined period of time, and enter EDCA restricted mode when the EDCA attempt failure counter equals a EDCA threshold.

  • Publication number: 20180020448
Abstract: Methods, computer readable media, and wireless apparatuses are disclosed for a TXOP duration field disable setting in a HE preamble, such as HE-SIG-A. An apparatus of a wireless device can include processing circuitry configured to decode a HE PPDU received from a second wireless device, the HE PPDU including a first TXOP duration field in a PHY portion of the HE PPDU. The processing circuitry can detect whether the TXOP duration field includes a disable flag based on bit values of the TXOP duration field. The disable flag can indicate absence of duration information in the TXOP duration field. Upon detecting the disable flag, a response HE PPDU can be encoded for transmission to the second wireless device. The response HE PPDU can include a second TXOP duration field with a disable flag within a PHY portion of the response HE PPDU.

  • Publication number: 20170279568
Abstract: Methods and devices are described in which the MU-RTS (multi-user request-to-send) trigger frame is compressed by having a single field trigger a group of users instead of an individual user. This technique also enables the indication of a set of transmission format parameters to the same group of users. In one embodiment, one Per-User Info field of the MU-RTS frame is used to indicate that the CTS (clear-to-send) response is to be transmitted by multiple stations instead of a having a Per-User Info field for each station.

  • Publication number: 20170265135
Abstract: Embodiments of an access point (AP), station (STA) and method for communication of control information for uplink transmission are generally described herein. The AP may transmit a trigger frame (TF) that indicates a resource unit (RU) to be used by an STA for an uplink data transmission. The AP may transmit a downlink data packet that indicates an RU to be used by the STA for a transmission of an acknowledgement message. In these and other cases, an RU allocation index may be used to indicate the RU. In addition, a group of one or more spatial streams (SSs) to be used by the STA for the uplink data transmission may be included in the TF.
