  • Publication number: 20160048462
Abstract: An asset management system is provided, which includes a hardware module operating as an asset control core. The asset control core generally includes a small hardware core embedded in a target system on chip that establishes a hardware-based point of trust on the silicon die. The asset control core can be used as a root of trust on a consumer device by having features that make it difficult to tamper with. The asset control core is able to generate a unique identifier for one device and participate in the tracking and provisioning of the device through a secure communication channel with an appliance. The appliance generally includes a secure module that caches and distributes provisioning data to one of many agents that connect to the asset control core, e.g. on a manufacturing line or in an after-market programming session.

  • Patent number: 9260616
Abstract: Gloss-controllable, radiation-curable inkjet inks cure quickly with minimal radiation exposure, enabling high-printing speed and low surface heating with controllable gloss on the printed image. Ink gloss can be controlled by varying the pinning energy to create the printed images with varied gloss from 10 to 100 gloss unit at 85° gloss measurement angle. After curing, the ink remains flexible on the surface, giving excellent performance on a wide range of surfaces, greatly expanding the range of applications for the ink. A gloss-controllable, radiation-curable inkjet ink may include approximately 8-18% of photo-initiators responding to UVA and UVV (UVA: 320-400 nm wavelengths, UVV: 400-450 nm wavelengths) radiation to initiate free radicals and optionally, other types of photo-initiators and approximately 60-85% of highly flexible mono-functional monomers.

  • Publication number: 20160044496
Abstract: Techniques for use in transferring an assignment of a secure chip of a wireless device from a current subscription manager (SM) of a current mobile network operator (MNO) to a new SM of a new MNO are described. In one illustrative example, the current SM receives a request for transferring the assignment and produces transfer permission data in response. The transfer permission data includes an identifier of the secure chip, an identifier of the current SM, and a digital signature of the current SM. The current SM then sends to the secure chip a transfer permission message which includes the transfer permission data. The transfer permission data indicates a permission for the secure chip to transfer the assignment from the current SM to the new SM. Additional techniques are performed by the secure chip, and the new SM, as described.

  • Patent number: 9139695
Abstract: Compositions and methods for producing compositions comprising a monoamine-endcapped polyimide component. Based on a gas chromatography mass spectroscopy analysis of a surface rinse of the composition performed at room temperature, the composition can have at least one surface with less than or equal to 5 ppb releasable phosphorous residuals, and less than or equal to 5 ppb releasable volatile organic compound residuals. The composition can also comprise less than or equal to 10 ppb combined releasable residuals. Because of the very low levels of residual contamination, the compositions can be used to produce a variety of articles including a disk drive.

  • Publication number: 20150142066
Abstract: A method includes inserting a first surgical device into an exposed first end of a first bone until a trailing end of the first surgical device is disposed adjacent to the first end of the first bone. A second surgical device is inserted into an exposed first end of a second bone while the first surgical device remains disposed within the first bone. A first portion of an implant is advanced into the second bone while being engaged with a passageway defined by the implant such that the implant is guided by the second surgical device. The second surgical device is removed from the second bone and from its engagement with the implant. The first bone is repositioned such that the first surgical device is aligned with the passageway defined by the implant, and the first bone is forced into engagement with a second portion of the implant.

  • Patent number: 9020845
Abstract: Systems and methods, implemented with computing devices, enable a human operator to input in software environments degrees of preference for a plurality of products, items or services, in a single swipe or gesture, and values for a plurality of fields of data in a single swipe or gesture. The user performs gestures in software environments, through the interface of a computing device, to move and reposition objects representing products, items or services relative to a rating scale having a predetermined range of preference values, to indicate a degree of preference for each product, item or service. A plurality of objects may be moved and rated in a single gesture. Rating scales may be embedded in virtual environments. Methods included enable a user to input values for a plurality of data fields in a single swipe or gesture, at least in part by selecting or moving objects within a software environment.
