  • Patent number: 8288759
Abstract: Transistor devices having vertically stacked carbon nanotube channels and techniques for the fabrication thereof are provided. In one aspect, a transistor device is provided. The transistor device includes a substrate; a bottom gate embedded in the substrate with a top surface of the bottom gate being substantially coplanar with a surface of the substrate; a stack of device layers on the substrate over the bottom gate, wherein each of the device layers in the stack includes a first dielectric, a carbon nanotube channel on the first dielectric, a second dielectric on the carbon nanotube channel and a top gate on the second dielectric; and source and drain contacts that interconnect the carbon nanotube channels in parallel. A method of fabricating a transistor device is also provided.

  • Publication number: 20120175594
Abstract: An electronic device comprises an insulator, a local first gate embedded in the insulator with a top surface of the first gate being substantially coplanar with a surface of the insulator, a first dielectric layer formed over the first gate and insulator, and a channel. The channel comprises a bilayer graphene layer formed on the first dielectric layer. The first dielectric layer provides a substantially flat surface on which the channel is formed. A second dielectric layer formed over the bilayer graphene layer and a local second gate formed over the second dielectric layer. Each of the local first and second gates is capacitively coupled to the channel of the bilayer graphene layer. The local first and second gates form a first pair of gates to locally control a first portion of the bilayer graphene layer.

  • Publication number: 20060193981
Abstract: The present invention is an apparatus for masking an exterior dovetail surface of a turbine airfoil for use in coating a turbine airfoil, wherein the apparatus comprises a turbine airfoil. The apparatus comprises a plurality of dovetail graphite sponge boot sections. The boot comprises a first interior surface assembled to the turbine airfoil to contact substantially all of an exterior dovetail surface of the turbine airfoil, while leaving exposed an exterior airfoil flowpath surface, a root portion of the exterior dovetail surface and an interior passageway surface. The boot further comprises second interior channel surfaces defining interior boot channels, a first exterior surface, a first aperture in the first exterior surface, the turbine airfoil extending out of the boot through the first exterior surface, a second exterior surface, second apertures in the second exterior surface in fluid communication with the interior cavity, the interior passageway surface, and an exterior environment.

  • Publication number: 20050178520
Abstract: A method of drying a sand mold mixture containing moisture includes restraining the sand mold mixture and exposing the sand mold mixture to a vacuum. The vacuum flashes off the moisture within the sand mold mixture thereby drying the sand mold mixture to create a solidified sand mold. The restraining member prevents voids from forming in the sand mold during exposure to the vacuum.

  • Publication number: 20050019479
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method of processing meat such as, but not limited to, turkey breast meat. The meat is vacuum tumbled prior to coagulation of blood within the meat, and the blood is withdrawn from the meat. The meat is then injected with a brine solution, tumbled, and further processed.

  • Patent number: 6355113
Abstract: A non-aqueous cleaning process uses an organic solvent for removing soil or surface contamination from contaminated articles such as printed circuit boards which are cleaned by immersion into a sump compartment of a cleaning tank containing the organic cleaning solvent. The organic solvent is preferably a hydrocarbon solvent. The cleaned articles, now coated with the organic cleaning solvent, are then disposed in a rinsing sump containing a fluorocarbon based rinsing solvent having an affinity for the organic cleaning solvent. The organic solvent is thus removed from the articles which are then dried without waste water as in a conventional solvent vapor degreasing solvent process.
