  • Publication number: 20170343130
Abstract: The driving mechanism has a tubular housing coupled to a control valve and housing an activating cylinder and an activated cylinder, cooperating with each other and respectively coupled to a rod of a wheel and a sealing device. The driving mechanism presents: an inoperative condition, in which the activated cylinder is maintained in a closing position of the control valve; a first operative condition, obtained by the rotation of the activating cylinder in a first sense and in which the activated cylinder is maintained in a first opening position, until the activating cylinder is rotated in an opposite sense, returning the activated cylinder to its closing position; and a second operative condition, obtained by rotation of the activating cylinder in a second sense and in which the activated cylinder reaches a second opening position, from which it is automatically displaced back to its closing position, in a timed manner.

  • Publication number: 20160300212
Abstract: Systems and methods are described for detecting items located in the bottom of a customer's shopping cart basket. Such items are often hidden from the immediate view of cashiers and other store employees, and therefore, may not be properly accounted for during checkout. Therefore, a relatively inexpensive solution for detecting and displaying the bottom of basket area to cashiers and/or other store employees is desired so that losses associated with such items can be minimized.

  • Patent number: 9290417
Abstract: In a composter having a horizontally elongated rotating drum, material is fed into the drum through an opening in a stationary end plate having an annular marginal area which overlaps, in sealing relationship, an annular intake end wall of the drum. Material passes through a central opening in an annular exit end wall of the drum, and falls by gravity onto a cylindrical screen which is fixed to, and rotates with, the exit end wall. The annular end walls are in axial register with, and surrounded by, external trunnions on the drum which ride on pairs of supporting rollers. Frusto-conical rings are welded to the end walls, and to the inside of the drum at locations opposite the edges of the trunnion rings to reduce metal fatigue. The exit end rollers allow for axial expansion of the drum. The interior wall the drum is lined with a rubber.
