  • Publication number: 20070087604
Abstract: An electrified wall panel in a modular furniture environment includes a plurality of multi-port electrical distribution blocks diversely located throughout the panel. Certain ones of the multi-port electrical distribution blocks are fixed to wall panel frame members and other ones of the multi-port electrical distribution blocks are free of the wall panel. A plurality of jumper cables, each having connectors at opposite cable ends are adapted to mate with any one of the multi-port electrical distribution block ports. The cables electrically interconnect the distribution blocks to form one complete circuit. There are a plurality of electrical receptacles, each having an electrical connector near one end which are electrically coupled to a port of a corresponding multi-port electrical distribution block. The system is assembled by fixing a jumper mounting bracket to a jumper cable near one end of the jumper cable. The jumper mounting bracket is attached to a support member.

  • Publication number: 20060131190
Abstract: Apparatus for enabling the use of a computer mouse at a sterile surgical site comprises a pouch for the accommodation of the mouse and an inlet sleeve forming an inlet passage into the pouch. The pouch and sleeve are formed of pliable, preferably transparent sterilizable material. When the mouse has been admitted to the pouch via the passage, the sleeve may be separated from the pouch and the open mouth of the latter rolled to form a seal, thereby retaining the mouse within the pouch.

  • Publication number: 20050176228
Abstract: This invention presents a novel method to form uniform or heterogeneous, straight or curved and size-controllable nanostructures, nanowires, and nanotapes, including SiNW, in a nanochannel template. In the case of semiconductor nanowires, doping can be included during growth. Electrode contacts are present as needed and built in to the template structure. Thus completed devices such as diodes, transistors, solar cells, sensors, and transducers are fabricated, contacted, and arrayed as nanowire or nanotape fabrication is completed. Optionally, the template is not removed may become part of the structure. Nanostructures such as nanotweezers, nanocantiliver, and nanobridges are formed utilizing the processes of the invention.

  • Publication number: 20050009393
Abstract: A power distribution jumper assembly includes a relatively fixed rigid support member, a multi conductor cable for supplying electrical energy to power utilization equipment and an electrical connector at one cable end. There is a jumper bracket mechanically coupled to the support member which mechanically supports the cable end and corresponding connector. A multiport electrical power distribution block receives the electrical connector. An electrical component is electrically connected to the power distribution block. The jumper mounting bracket extends from the support member and is mechanically connected to and rigidly supports the electrical component, connector and cable end.

  • Patent number: 6609071
Abstract: A system for monitoring and regulating pressure and concentration in a moving fluid stream inside of a conduit is provided. The fluid stream includes a first fluid. The system comprises an infusion assembly that includes a catheter having a series of holes distributed around an exterior surface and a pumping system for introducing a second fluid into said catheter to create a solution mixture. A data collection system is provided for collecting data indicative of pressure and conductivity values. Data from the data collection system is forwarded to a data processing and control apparatus. The data processing and control apparatus comprises conversion means for converting the measured conductivity into a concentration value and control means for controlling operation of the infusion assembly based on a comparison of selected values with data received from the data collection system. A user control and analysis system allows user interaction.

  • Patent number: 5684912
Abstract: The invention provides a scheme for attenuating light transmitted through an optical fiber, using an attenuator including a base plate having a series of vertical protrusions extending therefrom and a top plate positioned to close with the base plate. When closed, the base plate and top plate clamp a length of optical fiber between the base plate vertical protrusions and the top plate such that an optical fiber bends around the protrusions. Also provided is an optical attenuator including a rigid base plate having a channeled depression, on one face of the base plate, that includes a nonlinear channel path along at least a portion of the channeled depression. The channeled depression extends from a first point at an edge of the base plate face to a second point at an edge of the base plate face to form a continuous channel path between the first and second edge points.
