  • Publication number: 20020148938
Abstract: The invention relates to a sign hanger A, for facilitating the hanging of items such as a banner or the like from suspended ceiling grids in a store. The sign hanger is adapted to have a twist-lock releasable connection with a ceiling grid. A friction lock structure 42, 58 is added to decrease the likelihood of accidental deinstallation of the sign hanger A. In one embodiment the hanger has an elongated body 10 having spaced apart flanges 125, 130 in order to hold a banner 200. In another embodiment the hanger has a centrally located plateau 864, which co-operates with tapered surfaces 836 and 850 on respective clips 804 and 808 to hold the hanger in place on the ceiling grid.

  • Patent number: 6341755
Abstract: A shelf top adapter (A, B, C) includes a planar plate member (10, 10′, 110) which lies adjacent an upper surface of a shelf (30) or display fixture. The plate is held snugly in contact with the shelf by a rearward pair of feet (14, 14′, 114), which extend downward and axially from a rear edge (18) of the plate member, and a pair of forward mounting fingers (16, 80, 116) which extend downward from the plate member forward of the feet. The forward mounting fingers may be in the form of pegs (80) or hooks (16, 116), the hooks each including a fin (36, 136) extending laterally to the planar member. The feet and forward mounting fingers are inserted through suitably placed apertures (26, 32) in the shelf. The adapter is resistant to accidental removal during use, while being readily attached to, or removed from the shelf when desired.

The display portion has a plurality of vertically spaced integral tongues for supporting associated merchandise items. Each tongue has a base of one piece with the strip and lying in the plane of the strip and a tip protruding out of the plane of the strip. A pair of tapering sidewalls lead from the base to the tip. A plurality of first shoulders protrude from the strip in a direction approximately normal to the strip. Each first shoulder is located adjacent a respective tongue tip. Preferably, a plurality of second shoulders protrude in a direction approximately normal to the strip. A respective one of the plurality of first shoulders are located on one side of each tongue tip and a respective one of the plurality of second shoulders is located on another side of each tongue tip.

  • Patent number: 6119990
Abstract: A holder for an electronic information carrier includes a body having a cavity for holding an associated electronic price label, a rear wall having a convex section and an aperture extending through the convex section. An adapter cooperates with the body. The adapter has a front wall with a concave section in which the rear wall convex section of the body can be accommodated. An aperture extends through the concave section. The adapter aperture is aligned with the body rear wall convex section aperture. A fastener selectively extends through the aligned aperture to secure the holder to the adapter and orient the body at a first angle to a horizontal plane.

  • Patent number: 6082687
Abstract: A flag and label holder assembly for holding signs or labels for displaying prices and other information on merchandise display racks and shelves. The flag and label holder includes a base, a support member and a holder for selectively accommodating a sign. The support member can be pivotable in relation to the base via a hinge. The support member further includes a rib extending from the support member and positioned between a pair of L-shaped walls. The rib engages the holder. The base further includes a hook and, spaced therefrom, a finger which are both secured to the bottom surface of the base. The hook and finger engage a wall surface adjacent a respective hole in a display rack or shelf. The holder further includes at least one fin extending inwardly from an inside surface of each wall of the holder. The fins are overlapping to secure a sign within the holder. In an alternative embodiment, the holder includes a clip and a rib which hold the sign or label in place.

  • Patent number: 6026603
Abstract: A label holder including a mounting portion for engaging with a merchandising shelf and a display portion joined to the mounting portion is disclosed. The display portion includes an rear label panel and a second label panel in registry with said first label panel. Mutual lower edges of the rear and front label panels are joined together to form a bottom wall. An upper edge of the front label panel extends beyond an upper edge of the rear label panel. A dust flange extends transversely from the upper edge of the front label panel in a direction toward the mounting portion over the rear label panel. When the label holder is mounted to the merchandising shelf, the dust flange prevents dust and other particles from settling in a label pocket defined between the rear and front label panels. The dust flange also prevents dust and particles from settling on an upper end surface of a label positioned within the label pocket.

  • Patent number: 5908119
Abstract: An integrally formed hanger fixture includes a substantially vertically oriented wall having a top end and a bottom end. A substantially horizontally oriented wall is connected to the top end of the vertical wall. A retainer element is disposed on the vertically oriented wall. A wing overlies the horizontally oriented wall. A hinge connects the wing to the horizontally oriented wall. The hinge enables the wing to pivot in relation to the horizontally oriented wall until the wing is disposed beneath the horizontally oriented wall. The retainer element can be a wall, a layer of adhesive, a channel or an aperture. A rear retainer wall is preferably connected to the bottom end of the vertically oriented wall and extends upwardly therefrom in a substantially parallel manner. • Patent number: 5906283
Abstract: A one piece pusher urges merchandise items towards a front end of a pegboard mounted hook in a merchandise display system. The hook is used for slidably suspending associated merchandise items. The hook includes a back end which can be mounted in a pegboard and a front end having a generally upwardly turned tip for preventing the merchandise items from sliding off the hook. The pusher includes a mounting portion by which the pusher is mounted on the back end of the hook and an elongated portion extending forwardly from the mounting portion. The elongated portion includes a first aperture, a second aperture and a first slit extending between the first and second apertures. The first slit allows the elongated portion of the pusher to be mounted on the hook so that the first and second apertures surround the hook at spaced locations. The pusher further includes a front face of the elongated portion. The front face contacts a rearmost one of the merchandise items to urge it forwardly on the hook.
