  • Patent number: 5678794
Abstract: A variable length sign holder includes a base having a sleeve including a first end, a second end and a socket extending from the first end toward the second end, as well as a plate to which the second end of the sleeve is secured. A slot extends longitudinally along an exterior periphery of the sleeve and communicates with the socket. A pair of enlarged openings are located on the sleeve exterior periphery. The pair of openings are longitudinally spaced along the slot. A support member cooperates with the base. The support member includes a shaft which is slidably mounted in the socket of the base sleeve. The shaft has a first end, a second end and an outer periphery on which is located a lug. The lug cooperates with one of the pair of enlarged openings located on the sleeve exterior periphery.

  • Patent number: 5664749
Abstract: An apparatus for supporting a sign element on a fixture includes a left side support member and a right side support member with each of the support members being separated from the other and being free standing. Each support member includes a support surface and an engagement surface that is oriented substantially transverse to the support surface. A substantially linear side groove is located along a length of the engagement surface of each of the left and right support members. A left side base and a right side base are provided on which a respective one of the support members is mounted. Preferably the bases each have a projection extending into a recess formed in a housing of the support member for engaging a wall of the housing.

  • Patent number: 5647566
Abstract: A heavy duty display hook which supports point of purchase items or packages is insertable into a rectangular slot of a panel, such as a cardboard panel provided with one or more rectangular slots for display hooks. The display hook includes a front plate which is substantially vertically disposed in use and which has an upper end and a lower end and an elongated support member which projects forwardly from and extends upwardly in slightly inclined fashion to the front plate. A bridge extends rearwardly from the front plate, a longitudinal axis of the bridge being located above a longitudinal axis of the support. The bridge extends through the slot in the panel. A rear plate extends upwardly from the bridge. The rear plate is spaced from and is generally parallel to the front plate.

  • Patent number: 5490651
Abstract: A hanger clip construction adapted for use with overhead members, such as the T-bars of suspended ceilings, includes a first arm having first and second ends and a second arm having first and second ends. A first hinge connects the first arm second end to the second arm first end. A spring member is secured at a first end by a second hinge to the first arm and at a second end by a third hinge to the second arm. The spring maintains the first and second arms in one of two stable end positions of the hanger clip. The spring is in tension only when the first and second arms are between the two stable end positions. In one of the stable end positions, the first arm first end and the second arm second end extend over side edges of the overhead member to secure the hanger clip thereto.

  • Patent number: 5470138
Abstract: A device for displaying sheets of promotional material includes a frame having a rear wall, a front wall, a pair of side walls, a top wall, and a bottom wall. The walls cooperate to define a sheet receiving cavity. A hinge can be provided for pivotally mounting the front wall or cover from the remainder of the frame. Alternatively, the cover can be a separate element secured by a catch to the remainder of the frame. A bracket construction is located on the rear wall for securing the frame to an associated support member. A slot is defined along one of the side walls for allowing the withdrawal of sheets, such as coupons and the like, one at a time from the cavity.

  • Patent number: 5458242
Abstract: A literature holder is formed of an elongated sheet having spaced first and second transverse score lines. The sheet is bent along the first score line to form a front panel and a back panel, which extends in a first direction from the front panel, and bent along the second score line to form a bottom panel, which extends in a second direction from the front panel. A substantially U-shaped flap is formed in the front panel such that the two ends of the U contact the first score line. A tab extents from the bottom panel. A layer of adhesive is provided on the tab so that when the adhesive layer is contacted with the back panel to secure the tab to the back panel, the sheet can be formed into a triangular shape in which the holder is in a use configuration. Then the U-shaped flap can be bent out of the plane of the front panel and back towards the rear panel to accommodate goods, such as pamphlets, in the holder for display and dispensing. The holder can also be folded flat for storage or shipment.

  • Patent number: 5375803
Abstract: A holder for planar or sheet material includes a first panel, a second panel and a hinge along which an edge of the first panel is secured to an edge of the second panel. A first prong is secured to the first panel and extends in a direction substantially normal thereto. A first aperture is provided in the second panel. The first prong of the first panel is so located and sized as to pass through an associated planar material and enter the first aperture of the second panel when the first panel is rotated along the hinge so that the first panel overlies a portion of the second panel. The planar material is thereby held between the first and second panels. The first prong can be selectively secured in the second panel or detached therefrom so as to selectively hold planar or sheet material in the holder. The holder can support a sign in an in-store display environment. The holder may also be useful in securing several sheets of material together or in securing a dispenser to the front edge of a shelf.

  • Patent number: 5284259
Abstract: A merchandise display strip includes an elongated plastic strip having a mounting portion and an article suspending portion. The article suspending portion includes a first panel, a second panel, and fingers on each of the panels for suspending an article from a respective one of the first and second panels. A fold line separates the first and second panels and enables these panels to be folded in relation to each other so that at least two articles can be supported by the article suspending portion, one from each of the two panels. A third panel is provided on the article suspending portion such that it is interposed between the first and second panels and the mounting portion. The mounting portion enables the merchandise display strip to be supported from a pricing channel, a shelf, or a hook. If desired, the first and second panels can be secured to each other by adhesive, by fasteners or by inter-engaging tabs.
