  • Patent number: 11965518
Abstract: A motor assembly for driving a pump (e.g., liquid pump) includes an electric motor with an output shaft. A motor frame houses the electric motor so that the output shaft protrudes from an end of the motor frame. A plate assembly is coupleable about the output shaft to the end of the motor frame. The please assembly has a cavity that houses motor drive electronics. The plate assembly further defines a duct that extends between a central opening and one or more openings on an outer radial wall of the plate assembly. A fan is coupled to the output shaft so that the plate assembly is disposed between the fan and the motor frame. Rotation of the output shaft by the electric motor rotates the fan, causing air to flow through the duct. Air flow through the duct inhibits heat transfer between the electric motor and the motor drive electronics.

  • Patent number: 11682850
Abstract: An electric connector terminal assembly which allows numerous different terminal connector ends and wire diameters to be connected to a single size and type crimp cylinder using an rolled metal strip insert. Preferably, the metal strip is made of copper, and preferably the copper strip is coated with tin. The metal strip is then formed into a cylinder for insertion to the crimp cylinder. A method for connecting a crimp terminal to an electric wire is also disclosed. The method requires cutting a metal strip to form a plurality of parallel compliant members (e.g., fingers) connected to a base, rolling the cut strip to form a cylindrical insert, positioning the insert within a crimp cylinder of an electric connector with the fingers extending toward the mating end, inserting an electric wire within the cylindrical insert, and crimping the crimp cylinder to secure the electric wire within the cylindrical insert and crimp cylinder.

  • Patent number: 11428117
Abstract: A method is provided of controlling a gas turbine having a shaft connecting a compressor to a turbine, as well as having a reheat system, and a gas turbine. The method includes the steps of: operating the engine using the reheat system to provide a mass flow rate of reheat fuel into a gas flow of the gas turbine engine downstream of an exit of the turbine; detecting a shaft break event in the shaft; and in response to this detection, maintaining the mass flow rate of the reheat fuel being provided into the gas flow downstream of the turbine exit, whereby the maintained mass flow rate of reheat fuel raises a back pressure downstream of the turbine and thereby reduces a rotational speed of the turbine.

  • Patent number: 11095551
Abstract: For multipathing using a network of overlays, a set of virtual network interfaces (VNICs) corresponding to a physical network interface (PNIC) is created in a first data processing system. A first virtual network interface (VNIC) from the set of VNICs is bound to a virtual machine (VM) executing in a first data processing environment across a data network from the first data processing system. During a data communication with a second data processing system, data is divided into a first portion and a second portion, the first portion using a first path from the first VNIC to the first VM to the second data processing system, and the second portion using a second path from the PNIC to the second data processing system.

  • Publication number: 20190390844
Abstract: An LED headlamp for attachment directly or indirectly to a user. Generally speaking, the disclosed headlamp includes an adjustable strap for securing to a user (e.g., head, arm, jacket, backpack, etc.), an LED array detachably securable to the adjustable strap, and a battery pack coupled to the LED array via an input power port. Preferably, the battery pack is rechargeable and is hardwired to the LED array. Optionally, the array may include a connection port that can accept any of several different power sources for powering the LED array of the headlamp, including a DC battery pack (e.g., AAA, AA batteries), a portable charger, an AC connection, to a wall outlet, and a computer USB charging connection. Further, the LED array may include a range of from 4 to 30 LEDs; more preferably, the number of LEDs is in the range of from 8 to 20. The LEDs should be spaced to provide a broadband of illumination, as opposed to a focused beam.

  • Patent number: 10073694
Abstract: A system for extending application programming interfaces provided by web service providers to interface with web services includes an application programming interface extender; a plurality of application programming interface extensions; and a catalog of the application programming interface extensions. The catalog logically links the application programming interface extensions with the application programming interfaces and provides an interface to first developers who upload the application programming interface extensions to the platform and second developers who develop applications which access the web services via the application programming interface extensions. The application programming interface extender receives requests to access given ones of the application programming interface extensions and routes at least some of the requests to the application programming interface extensions.
