  • Patent number: 10893467
Abstract: A home automation (HA) system may include addressable HA devices and an HA interface device that includes a housing, a display, and an audio input device carried by the housing. The HA interface device may also include a controller carried by the housing to store HA device signatures of the addressable HA devices and determine an unpaired addressable HA device and compare the associated HA device signature of the unpaired addressable HA device with the stored HA device signatures. The controller may also, when there is a match between the HA device signature of the unpaired addressable HA device and one of the stored HA device signatures, permit pairing of the unpaired addressable HA device to communicate with the unpaired addressable HA device using a respective wireless communications protocol, and selectively operate paired addressable HA devices based upon voice commands received via the audio input device.

  • Patent number: 10882039
Abstract: A fluidic module includes first and second measuring chambers, first and second fluid inlet channels connected to the first and second measuring chambers, respectively, and first and second fluid outlet channels connected to the first and second measuring chambers, respectively. Upon rotation of the fluidic module about a center of rotation, liquids are centrifugally driven into the first and second measuring chambers via the first and second fluid inlet channels, respectively, so that compressible media previously present within the first and second measuring chambers are compressed by the liquids driven into the first and second measuring chambers, respectively. Upon a reduction of the rotational frequency and upon an expansion, resulting therefrom, of the compressible media, the liquids present within the first and second measuring chambers are driven out of same via the first and second fluid outlet channels, respectively.

  • Patent number: 10835338
Abstract: A medical bag comprises a flexible shell and having opening and a zip fastener for closing the opening. The zip fastener includes two sliders arranged to close the zip from opposing ends in a direction towards each other along the length of the zip fastener. The sliders are movable between an open configuration in which they are located at opposing ends of the zip fastener and a closed configuration in which they are located at a stop position at the centre of the zip fastener. The bag further includes a pair of positioned at a common location along the length of the zip coincident with the stop position of the sliders. The handles are located on opposing sides of the zip fastener and are arranged to enable a person to impart forces in opposing directions away from the zip transverse to the length of the zip to open the zip when the zip is closed with the sliders located at the stop position to enable the bag to be ripped open in a very rapid manner to access the medical equipment in time critical situations.

  • Publication number: 20200352096
Abstract: An eccentric mount is used to adjust floatation force applied to a cutter bar of a pull type mower when the cut height of the cutter bar is changed. The eccentric mount is rotated to increase or decrease the tension on springs suspending the cutter bar. The eccentric mount is calibrated to adjust incrementally in relation to the position of the skid shoes to provide a floatation force to the cutter bar appropriate to the cutter height as determined by the spring shoe setting.

  • Publication number: 20200317077
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to charge electric vehicles are disclosed. An example method includes receiving, at a processor, a request for a mobile charging unit to meet an electric vehicle to provide a battery charge to the electric vehicle. The request is generated by the electric vehicle when a ratio of a remaining trip distance of the electric vehicle to a remaining expected range of the electric vehicle exceeds a threshold. The example method further includes identifying, via the processor, a location for the battery charge based on input from a user of the electric vehicle regarding a plurality of possible locations for the battery charge.

  • Publication number: 20200317084
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to charge electric vehicles are disclosed. An example method includes monitoring, via a processor, a battery charge level of an electric vehicle receiving a battery charge from a mobile charging unit. The example method includes determining, via the processor, a remaining trip distance of the electric vehicle from a location of the battery charge to a trip destination. The example method further includes determining, via the processor, a target charge level for the battery charge. The target charge level corresponds to when the battery charge level provides a first probability that the electric vehicle will reach the trip destination without an additional battery charge. The example method also includes generating, via the processor, a signal to stop the battery charge when the battery charge level reaches the target charge level.
