  • Publication number: 20150235269
Abstract: Systems and methods for reserving a particular third-party content slot of an information resource of a content publisher. A processor receives, responsive to an action to an object included within an information resource of a publisher, a request to receive information for inserting a creative within slots available on the information resource. The processor provides, for display, an interface that includes the information regarding inserting the creative within the content slots on the information resource. The information identifies slots and costs associated with inserting the creative within each of the slots. The processor receives, via the interface, a request to insert a creative within a particular slot according to a reservation policy. The request identifies the creative to insert in the particular slot and the reservation policy. The processor stores data associated with the request to insert the creative within the particular slot.

  • Publication number: 20150236979
Abstract: Systems and methods for providing an actionable object within a third-party content slot of an information resource of a content publisher. A processor receives an indication of interest in providing, for display, a creative within at least one third-party content slot of an information resource of a content publisher. The information resource includes third-party content slots available to be reserved to serve creatives. The processor identifies, on the information resource, at least one third-party content slot available to be reserved to serve one or more creatives. The processor inserts an actionable object within the identified third-party content slot, the actionable object configured to generate a request to provide an interface for reserving the identified third-party content slot to display the creative responsive to an action being taken on the actionable object. The processor renders the information resource including the inserted actionable object within the identified third-party content slot.

Abstract: Apparatus is disclosed for monitoring, measuring and/or estimating a force applied to a body or body part of a vertebral mammal. The apparatus includes an acceleration sensor for measuring acceleration of the body or body part relative to an inertial frame of reference and for providing data indicative of the acceleration. The acceleration sensor includes at least one inertial sensor, a memory device adapted for storing the data, and a processor adapted for processing the data to evaluate a reaction force that correlates to the data. The processor may be configured to execute an algorithm for evaluating the reaction force, based on one or more correlation components such as mass, speed and/or velocity associated with the body or body part. A method of monitoring and/or estimating a force applied to a body or body part of a vertebral mammal is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 9037422
Abstract: A method for detecting a leak in a fluid conducting conduit is disclosed. Inlet and outlet flowrates are measured for calculating a time derivative of average temperature of the fluid flowing in the fluid conducting conduit. A predicted difference in flowrate between a flowrate of fluid in the fluid conducting conduit adjacent the inlet and a flowrate of fluid in the fluid conducting conduit adjacent the outlet is calculated based on the calculated time derivative of the average temperature of the fluid flowing in the fluid conducting conduit. The predicted difference in flowrate is compared to a difference between the measured inlet flowrate and the measured outlet flowrate to determine whether a leak exists in the fluid conducting conduit.

  • Patent number: 9005041
Abstract: A driveline shield system having a cap disposed to releasably engage a bearing mounted adjacent a drive shaft. The cap supports a tubular guard or shield in a coaxial position relative to the drive shaft. One or more lugs on the bearing are disposed to seat in corresponding slots formed in the cap. When the lugs are seated in the slots, rotation of the cap relative to the bearing causes the bearing and the cap to engage one another. A U-shaped clip is pivotally mounted to the cap and rotatable between a first position in which the clip extends into the slot and secures the lugs in engagement with the cap and a second release position in which the clip is retracted from the slot, thereby permitting relative rotation between the cap and bearing.

  • Publication number: 20150065763
Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the present invention is directed generally to a composition of matter and, more specifically, to a composition comprising a petroleum substitute produced from renewable, woody tree-based sources through a solvent extraction process. The woody tree sources are typically hydrocarbon-bearing trees or shrubs capable of producing significant quantities of liquid terpenes such that the process of extracting hydrocarbons from the woody tree material is economically viable. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the woody tree material is derived from pine or eucalyptus trees, or a combination thereof. These tree species contain relatively large quantities of relatively low molecular weight hydrocarbons. A raw woody tree biomass is processed into a plurality of solvent-permeable wood particles. Naturally occurring hydrocarbons found in the wood particles are then extracted using an organic solvent extraction process.

Abstract: A preferred embodiment of the present invention is directed generally to a composition of matter and, more specifically, to a composition comprising a petroleum substitute produced from renewable, herbaceous plant-based sources through a solvent extraction process. The plant sources are typically hydrocarbon-bearing plants capable of producing significant quantities of liquid terpenes such that the process of extracting hydrocarbons from the plant material is economically viable. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, the plant species is Euphorbia tirucalli, a species that contains relatively large quantities of relatively low molecular weight hydrocarbons. A raw plant biomass is milled and formed into a batt of plant material having generally uniform properties. Naturally occurring hydrocarbons found in the plant material are then extracted using an organic solvent extraction process.

  • Publication number: 20140331880
Abstract: A system and method is provided for closed loop control of an untensioned product length of a web moving through a printing press under tension during production. While a printing press is printing on the web, a controller receives a calculated untensioned product length Lo(t) of the web in the span of the printing press while the web is moving through the printing press under tension, compares L0(t) to a previously stored untensioned product length setpoint Lsetpoint, maintains closed loop control of the untensioned product length by controlling one or more components on the printing press as a function of said comparing step, and repeats the steps receiving, comparing, maintaining and controlling over time while the printing press is printing on the web.

  • Patent number: 8797868
Abstract: A network device of a communication network is configured to implement coordinated scheduling and processor rate control. In one aspect, packets are received in the network device and scheduled for processing from one or more queues of that device. An operating rate of a processor of the network device is controlled based at least in part on an optimal operating rate of the processor that is determined using a non-zero base power of the processor. For example, the operating rate of the processor may be controlled such that the processor either operates at or above the optimal operating rate, or is substantially turned off. The optimal operating rate of the processor may be selected so as to fall on a tangent line of a power-rate curve of the processor that also passes through an origin point of a coordinate system of the power-rate curve.
