  • Publication number: 20190377189
Abstract: A housing, including mounting features for directly mounted components, is formed by curing carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) and a molding compound (MC) such as a sheet molding compound (SMC) or a bulk molding compound (BMC). SMC or BMC may be used depending on the implementation. This forms a housing with mounting features in a thermoset manner, in which the weight of a product such as a head mounted display (which incorporates the housing comprising the mounting features) is reduced, and any orientation issues or problems are significantly reduced.

  • Publication number: 20190374334
Abstract: An intraocular device that includes a base member is provided. The device can be an accommodation intraocular lens device with the base member and a power changing lens. The base member comprises an annular haptic that surrounds a central cavity having an open end. The power changing lens is configured to fit within the central cavity. The haptic comprises one or more projections, e.g., tabs that hold another device in position. In the case of the accommodating intraocular lens device, the other device is the power changing lens. The base member and the power changing lens are maintained separate until assembly in the eye of the patient. During assembly, the base member is advanced into the capsular bag of a patient through a capsulorhexis and oriented such that the open end of the central cavity faces the cornea. Subsequently, the power changing lens is advanced into the central cavity through the capsulorhexis.

  • Publication number: 20190375513
Abstract: A fuel delivery system has a tank, a fuel pump, and an air filtering apparatus coupled with the tank and the fuel pump. The air filtering apparatus includes a housing that defines a housing chamber, a fuel flow controller coupled with the housing, and a passive separator disposed within the housing chamber. The passive separator is constructed and arranged to separate air and fuel of a fuel mixture passively while the fuel mixture enters the housing chamber from the tank and while filtered fuel exits the housing chamber toward the fuel pump in response to operation of the fuel flow controller. Such a system is well-suited for supplying fuel to a combustion engine in which consistent fuel pressure may be critical. Furthermore, the passive separator alleviates the need for a power source for active air and fuel separation, a control mechanism, and so on.

  • Publication number: 20190374708
Abstract: Examples of fluid delivery drive system and/or pump system that creates a vacuum in a fluid line for drawing and expelling fluid are provided. The vacuum may be created by separating two components that are positioned within the sealed fluid line. Once the two components are separated and the fluid is contained within the volume created between the separated components, the two components may be shuttled within the sealed volume. The movement of the two components can seal off an inlet to the fluid line and then open a pathway to an outlet from the fluid line while ensuring the created volume between the two components is maintained constant. The two components can then be moved back together to expel the fluid from the created volume through the outlet for delivery, for example, to a patient. Other examples are disclosed and described.

  • Publication number: 20190378383
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a haptic output from an audio signal having a continuous stream of sampled digital audio data are provided. A haptic processing system receives the digital audio data, analyses the digital audio data for processing and extracts haptic signals for generating a haptic effect through an actuator. The method includes passing the digital audio signal on through dynamic processor(s), adjusting the dynamic range of the digital audio signal, extracting the signal envelope of the audio data, synthesising low-frequency signals from the extracted signal envelope, and enhancing the low-frequency content using a resonator. The haptic output is generated by mixing the digital audio signal with outputs from the different modules of the haptic processing system. An analytics module monitors, controls and adjusts the processing of the digital audio signal at the noise gate module, the compressor module and the envelope module to enhance the haptic output.

  • Publication number: 20190379723
Abstract: An imaging platform may determine whether an image file stored on a client device is a current version of the image file, and may identify, based on determining that the image file on the client device is not the current version of the image file, the current version of the image file in an image file store. The imaging platform may determine, based on identifying the current version of the image file and based on one or more properties associated with a network connection of the client device, a bandwidth allocation for transmitting the current version of the image file to the client device. The imaging platform may transmit, to the client device, a mapping table associated with the current version of the image file, and may transmit, based on the bandwidth allocation and based on the mapping table, the current version of the image file to the client device.
