Abstract: An oral care implement having electrodes thereon. In one aspect, the oral care implement may include a handle and a head, the head having a front surface and an opposite rear surface. A plurality of tooth cleaning elements may extend from the front surface of the head. A soft tissue cleaner may be located on the rear surface of the head, the soft tissue cleaner including a protuberance field. A first electrode and a second electrode are each operably coupled to a power source to have opposite electrical charges. The first and second electrodes may be spaced apart from one another and substantially surround the protuberance field. In other embodiments, the first and second electrodes may be embedded within or otherwise located within the protuberance field.

Abstract: A personal care implement which may include a handle and a head. The handle may have a gripping portion, a neck portion, and a thumb grip portion located between the gripping portion and the neck portion. The thumb grip portion may be formed from a base member and a first grip member. The base member may include a cavity, a front surface having a first opening that forms a passageway into the cavity, and a first cantilevered tab extending across a portion of the first opening. The first grip member may be coupled to the base member. The first grip member may close the first opening in the front surface of the base member and overlie the first cantilevered tab.

Abstract: A personal care implement includes a treatment device having a longitudinal axis and including a treatment portion having at least one treatment element; a connection portion having a main body and a first resilient snap attachment protruding from the main body, the main body formed of a first material having a first hardness and the first resilient snap attachment formed of a second material having a second hardness, the first hardness being greater than the second hardness; and the treatment device is alterable between: (1) a detached state; and (2) an assembled state in which the treatment device is detachably coupled to a grip section such that the first resilient snap attachment cooperates with and engages a first engagement portion of the grip section to secure the treatment device to the grip section.

Abstract: A personal care implement having a handle which includes a first rigid portion, a second rigid portion, and an elastomeric portion located therebetween. The first and second rigid portions may have end portion with first and second tabs. The elastomeric portion has a front surface, a rear surface, and a peripheral surface that extends between the front and rear surfaces. A first groove may be formed between the first tab of the first rigid portion and the first tab of the second rigid portion. A second groove may be formed between the second tab of the first rigid portion and the second tab of the second rigid portion. A first portion of the peripheral surface of the elastomeric portion may form a floor of the first groove and a second portion of the peripheral surface of the elastomeric portion may form a floor of the second groove.

Abstract: A toothbrush includes a handle, a head at a distal end of the handle comprising a bristle plate, a hole extending through the bristle plate, a plurality of bristles at least partially disposed in the hole and extending from the hole in a direction away from the head, and a reservoir in fluid communication with the hole. Fluid in the reservoir enters the tuft holes and is wicked out of the head of the toothbrushes by capillaries formed between the bristles.

That is, the handle has a recess in a rear surface thereof, such that the handle or a portion thereof has a U-shaped transverse cross-sectional area. Portions of the handle may be covered with an elastomeric material to increase gripability and comfort. The handle may also include various rib structures elongated along the recess to increase the strength of the handle so that it does not significantly deform during normal use.

The handle has an open thumb gripping passageway extending between an exposed first surface of the handle and an exposed second surface of the handle opposite the exposed first surface. The handle also has a plurality of slots defining open slot passageways from the exposed first surface of the handle to the exposed second surface of the handle. The open thumb gripping passageway may be defined by a ring component that is fitted into an aperture in a body component. The open thumb gripping passageway may be a void space in the handle. The open slot passageways may be elongated along the handle and may serve to reduce a total amount of virgin material needed to manufacture the oral care implement.

Application of an electrical current to the electrically conducting element generates a magnetic field at the electrically conducting element. The magnetic field selectively at least one of attracts and repels the ferromagnetic member to move the movable cleaning element relative to the electrically conducting element.
