  • Publication number: 20040090906
Abstract: A system to decode a multirate CDMA signal. In one aspect the system includes a high rate detector to generate high rate outputs based upon decoding an input signal that includes high rate users and low rate users. The high rate outputs include actual high rate users and effective high rate users. A second stage applies a first linear transformation to the high rate outputs to generate second stage outputs. • Patent number: 6674793
Abstract: In a receiver having at least two fingers, the fingers tracking at least one path of a multipath channel, a method includes the steps of forming a finger block of at least two of the two fingers and jointly tracking the fingers of said finger block. The step of jointly tracking includes the steps of generating direction metrics of each of a set of possible directions of joint movement of the fingers of the finger block, selecting one of the direction metrics according to a predetermined criterion, and moving the fingers of the finger block in the directions indicated by the selected direction metric.

  • Patent number: 6618433
Abstract: A multi-user detector of transmitted signals includes a bank of despreaders and a processor. Each despread signal (produced by the despreaders) has cyclic and channel variations. The bank of despreaders despreads the transmitted signals to produce despreaded signals and the processor receives the despreaded signals and separately processes the cyclic and the channel variations. The processor includes a cyclic variation processor and a channel variation processor. The cyclic variation processor generally processes the cyclic variation of the transmitted signals and the channel variation processor communicates with the cyclic variation processor and processes at least the channel variation of the transmitted signals. The cyclic variation processor includes a weighting operator which weights the transmitted signals with at least one tap weight and a tap weight generator which generates the at least one tap weight at least from a cyclic code.
