  • Patent number: 12701545
Abstract: Techniques for paging user equipments (UEs) in a wireless communication network include clustering paging occasions of multiple UEs in a time domain on the network node side and broadcasting at least one reference signal from the network node for the UEs shortly before the clustered POs, thereby providing the power saving benefit for the UEs and without having to impose a much larger power consumption of the network node itself or cause the network node to be always on to broadcast the at least one reference signal. The at least one reference signal broadcasted may be based on SSBs, TRS and/or CSI-RS. Thus, the techniques allow the reference signals to be made available for the UEs in the RRCJDLE/RRCJN ACTIVE state too.

  • Patent number: 12677255
Abstract: This disclosure presents apparatuses and methods to determine, assign, and communicate paging subgroups using assistance information. In some aspects, assistance information can include user equipment (UE) parameters, for example, UE capability parameters, UE type parameters, ID preference parameters, location parameters, or mobility parameters. In some aspects, assistance information can include network parameters, cell parameters, or information about a subset or all UEs registered on the network. The radio access network (RAN) or core network (CN) can utilize the assistance information to determine the number of paging subgroups and to assign one or more subsets of UEs to each paging subgroup. The RAN or CN can communicate the paging subgroups to one or more of the UEs within the network. In some aspects, the paging subgroup can be directly indicated to the UE. In some aspects, the paging subgroup can be derived by the UE using the received paging subgroup information.

  • Patent number: 12677200
Abstract: Devices, methods and computer programs for switching from a terrestrial cell to a non-terrestrial cell are disclosed. At least some example embodiments may allow switching a client device from a terrestrial cell to a non-terrestrial cell in such a way that the client device has time to prepare for the switch, and optionally perform tests related to a coverage of the non-terrestrial cell and inform a network node proposing the switch if the coverage is not sufficient. As a result, significant energy savings may be achieved on the network side, for example.

  • Patent number: 12677221
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a simple and power-efficient procedure that allows using wake-up signaling in inter-cell mobility scenarios. The procedure is based on configuring a Wake-Up Signal (WUS) Beacon Occasion (WBO) for each Tracking Area (TA) of a user device. A WUS beacon corresponding to each cell in the TA is transmitted once at a cell-specific time offset within the WBO. The WBO is configured together with a mapping table that maps each of the cell-specific time offsets to cell-specific information. The cell-specific information may comprise a cell ID and/or an indicator of a cell-specific frequency and/or cell-specific frequency range to be used for synchronization signal reception (e.g., Global Synchronization Channel Number (GSCN)). Each TA comprises intra-frequency cells only. By using the WBO, the user device may reduce its power consumption by avoiding switching from its sleep state to its active state when doing cell reselections in the TA.

  • Publication number: 20260156567
Abstract: Example embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a terminal device, a method, apparatus, a computer readable storage medium and a computer program product for a validity of stored SIB1. In the solution, the terminal device may store SIB1 associated with a first network device, which comprises first information related to a first value tag. The terminal device may receive system information comprising second information related to a second value tag. In addition, the terminal device may determine a validity of the stored SIB1 based on the first information related to the first value tag and second information related to the second value tag. As such, the validity of the stored SIB1 can be determined and accordingly the SIB1 acquisition procedure is not required if the stored SIB1 is valid, therefore, the signalling overhead can be reduced.
