Abstract: The present invention relates to pharmaceutical and veterinary compositions and methods using such compositions for the treatment of hypotension. Such compositions contain a catalyst for the dismutation of superoxide, including superoxide dismutase enzyme (SOD) and small molecular weight organic ligand mimics of that enzyme (SOD mimetics or SODms) which may be administered alone or in combination with a catecholamine pressor agent.
