Abstract: A method for performing configurable actions based upon the detection of one or more mobile devices includes receiving from a detection point an identifier for each of one or more mobile devices detected within a detection perimeter associated with the detection point. The identifiers are then filtered to determine a change in status for each of the one or more mobile devices. An action is then performed based upon at least one of the determined changes in status for each of the one or more mobile devices.

Abstract: In a click-to-call (C2C) communication environment, a web client of a computing terminal is configured to initiate a C2C call when a user selects a call tag provided in a web page being presented to the user. The call is intended to be established between a remote endpoint associated with the call tag and one of either the computing terminal or another terminal associated with the user. If the C2C call is directed to an automated system and placed in a queue or on hold, the present invention allows supplemental content intended for the user to be delivered to the web client from which the C2C call was initiated. The web client may present the supplemental content to the user.

Abstract: A packet communication address is delivered through in-band signaling over a circuit-switched network connection for a call, so the packet communication address can be used to establish a packet session outside the circuit-switched network. When the call is initiated from an initiating communication client to a terminating communication client using a directory number associated with the terminating communication client, a portion of the bearer path is established through the circuit-switched network between two network gateways. The packet communication address for the originating communication client may be received in a call establishment request by an originating network gateway. The originating network gateway will use in-band signaling over the bearer path to provide the packet communication address for the originating communication client to a terminating network gateway.

Abstract: The present invention allows originating endpoints to obtain reachability information from a directory service, which collects contact and related information from available users. When initiating a peer-to-peer communication session to an endpoint of a destination user, the originating endpoint will access the directory service to obtain reachability information for the destination user. The reachability information may contain one or more addresses, one of which will be a peer-to-peer communication session address. From the reachability information, the originating terminal will determine an appropriate address to initiate communications with the destination user. The reachability information may identify multiple addresses, where only certain of the addresses may be peer-to-peer communication addresses and other addresses may be used to establish other types of sessions through disparate types of networks.

Abstract: A method for providing access to a video portion of a voice and video (VAV) call includes receiving a VAV call that originated from a device of a first user. The VAV call includes a voice portion and a video portion. The voice portion of the call is transmitted to a voicemail associated with a voice terminal of a second user while the video portion of the VAV call stored. The second user is subsequently provided with access to the video portion of the VAV call.

Abstract: The present invention allows mobile terminals to receive location-based information upon entering a local wireless zone established by an access point. The access point includes or is associated with one or more servers, which may provide the location-based information and control access. The local wireless zone is a limited area in which communications between the access point and the mobile terminal are possible. Once the mobile terminal enters into one or more local wireless zones, the presence of the mobile terminal in the local wireless zone is detected. Once detected, the mobile terminal is afforded access to a server on which the location-based information is stored. The server is associated with the local wireless zone.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for the automatic transfer of mobile calls between wireless packet switched (PS) and guaranteed service (GS) networks based on quality of service (QoS) measurements are disclosed. One method includes establishing a call over the PS or GS network. The method may further include monitoring a quality of service (QoS) parameter associated with the PS network, and comparing the QoS parameter to a minimum quality threshold. The method may further include receiving instructions to initiate a call transfer based upon the comparison of the QoS parameter to the minimum quality threshold.

Abstract: When a caller initiates a call to a mobile terminal that is served by visited switch, information is provided to the caller based on the temporary directory number assigned to the mobile terminal by the visited switch. The information provided to the caller may relate to the location of the mobile terminal, include call processing options for the caller, or a combination thereof. When call processing options are provided, the caller may select an option and have the call processed accordingly. For example, the call processing options may include being routed to voicemail, a third party, or the originally called party. Other criteria may be used to assist in selecting the information to provide to the caller, such as the identification of the caller, the time, date, or differences in time zones between the home and visited networks.

Abstract: The present invention allows a mobile terminal to automatically log on to an access network, and potentially log on to an entity on the access network or associated network based on the communication zone from which communications are afforded. The mobile terminal can detect one or more available access points associated with one or more communication zones and determine the most appropriate communication zone to use when obtaining network access. Based on the selected communication zone, the mobile terminal will obtain logon information from a logon profile. The logon information will provide sufficient information to allow the mobile terminal to obtain network access via the appropriate access point. Additional logon information may be provided for logging on to a network entity once network access is afforded.

Abstract: Location information for a mobile terminal is made available by a wireless telephone service provider once a location request is authorized by the user of the mobile terminal. The present invention facilitates sharing of the location information for the mobile terminal with any web server that is capable of providing location based services.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are methods, systems, and computer readable media for deriving user availability from user context and user responses to communications requests. According to an aspect, a method includes monitoring communications requests. Each of the communications requests may include a request for conducting a communication session between a requesting user and a requested user. The method may also include monitoring user responses to the communications requests. Further, the method may include determining user contexts for the requested user corresponding to each of the communications requests communicated to the requested user. The method may include determining an indication of user availability for the requested user based on the user responses and the corresponding user contexts. The method may also include providing the indication of user availability to one or more authorized users.

Abstract: The present invention provides a combined user agent, which acts on behalf of multiple packet-based communication clients that may have different media capabilities. The combined user agent allows the different communication clients to cooperate with one another and participate in the same multimedia session. Different ones of the communication clients may support different types of media sessions. The combined user agent may present a single interface, which is associated with a single identification, on behalf of the supported communication clients to remote communication clients. As such, the combined user agent may appear to remote communication clients as a single communication client having the combined capabilities of the supported communication clients.

Abstract: The present invention employs scalable video coding (SVC) in a multi-view camera system, which is particularly suited for video conferencing. Multiple cameras are oriented to capture video content of different image areas and generate corresponding original video streams that provide video content of the image areas. An active one of the image areas may be identified at any time by analyzing the audio content originating from the different image areas and selecting the image area that is associated with the most dominant speech activity.

Abstract: The present invention relates to facilitating the delivery of messaging service messages, such as those provided through short messaging services and multimedia messaging services, to a dual-mode terminal through a wireless network as well as through either a public switched telephone network (PSTN) or data access network using a terminal adaptor. The terminal adaptor is capable of providing local wireless communications with the dual-mode terminal, when it is within communication range of the terminal adaptor.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer readable media for session initiation protocol (SIP) device-level call/session/service management are disclosed. According to one aspect, a system for SIP device-level management includes a SIP service node that makes available to a user the unique device identifier of a SIP device, where the SIP device is one of multiple devices that register using the same SIP identity, and that allows the user to use the unique device identifier to manage calls, sessions, or services on a SIP device-level basis, which may include performing screening, routing, or logging operations. In one embodiment, the SIP service node is configured to receive SIP device-level management rules for managing SIP calls, sessions, or services on a SIP device-level basis and to use the rules to manage calls, sessions, or services on a SIP device-level basis.
