Abstract: A network controller in a communication device may be operable to route local host-management traffic between a local host and a management controller within the communication device, wherein the local host may be operable to utilize its network processing resources and function during communication of the local host-management traffic. A dedicated management port may be configured in the network controller to enable receiving and/or transmitting local host-management traffic communicated from and/or to the local host separate from the local host's network traffic communicated via the network controller. The host-management traffic is communicated between the network controller and the management controller via NC-SI interface. The management controller may be assigned Internet protocol (IP) based addressing information for use during routing of local host-management traffic.

The rotor blade includes an airfoil having a first sidewall and a second sidewall, connected at a leading edge and at a trailing edge. The method includes forming the airfoil portion bounded by a root portion at a zero percent radial span and a tip portion at a one hundred percent radial span, the airfoil having a radial span dependent chord length C, a respective maximum thickness T, and a maximum thickness to chord length ratio (Tmax/C ratio), forming the root portion having a first Tmax/C ratio, forming the tip portion having a second Tmax/C ratio, and forming a mid portion extending between a first radial span and a second radial span having a third Tmax/C ratio, the third Tmax/C ratio being less than the first Tmax/C ratio and the second Tmax/C ratio.

Abstract: A toolbox having enhanced weather protection includes a base component and a top component connected together by a pair of pivot assemblies. When the top component is pivoted downwardly towards the base component, it forms a first weather and wind seal around its outer perimeter. The top and bottom components each include weather-sealing inside flanges that are complimentary so that when the top component and base component are closed, a secondary weather and wind seal is formed.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for handling sensitive components includes a tray having an array of integral latches. A portion of each latch serves to maintain the components on their respective mounts. The method of using the tray involves displacing the latch with an end effector to enable automated removal of the component from the tray.

Abstract: The invention concerns a tray having an integral latch that mates to a boss of an adjacent tray to form a stable stack. The latch may be incorporated into any type of tray, basket, or other container for storing articles. Multiple containers may be stacked together without the use of a detachable clip. Also disclosed is a tray that includes an array of posts extending downward to support the tray on a flat surface.

Abstract: A wafer container comprising a base and a cover that nest together. The cover includes tabs on a lower portion that engage notches on the frame. The cover can be combined with the base without indexing to a precise opening on the frame. A handle on the cover enables an operator to easily rotate the container into a locked position. A ribbed pattern on the exterior surface of the frame enables the wafer container to be stacked with another wafer container.

Abstract: The “Child Alert” is a new application of current warning Systems technology to prevent anyone from leaving an infant in a vehicle. It is connected to the vehicle ignition and is activated upon it being turned off. A vocal alert would then sound that a baby is present.

Abstract: A system and method for precisely locating the position of a component in a tray. The tray is a unitary structure having a plurality of protrusions on at least one side. A robot relies on the protrusions to locate pockets adjacent to each protrusion. An end effector reaches for a component in each pocket. The degree of accuracy of locating a component in a tray is enhanced by employing the plurality of protrusions and by following the method of the present invention.

Abstract: A disk caddy for storing media disks in a disk caddy is disclosed. The disk caddy includes at least one leverage arm for disengaging the top cover to remove or store media disks within a disk cassette. The leverage arm may comprise a finger well, a gusset, a ring, or a releasable tab. Methods for removing a disk from a disk caddy are also disclosed.

The sides are connected to the back and the front and extend downwardly from the top. The top component has a first outside pivot assembly area on the left side and a second outside pivot attachment area on the right side. The top component has an overall width greater than the width of the base component so that the top component nests on top of the component and the left side and right side of the top component are exterior to the base component. There is a left pivot assembly and a right pivot assembly.

Abstract: The present invention provides for a direct correlation between milk production in livestock animals and the presence of alleles of a gene encoding an adipocyte-specific polypeptide, termed leptin, which gene is hereinafter referred to as ob. The invention also provides novel compositions consisting essentially of specific oligonucleotides that are useful as primers to amplify particular regions of the genome during enzymatic nucleic acid amplification, thus providing a rapid, sensitive and specific method for the detection of the ob-gene polymorphism which may be present in a specimen. The invention further provides for methods of screening bovine to determine those having predictably more milk productivity and advantageously selecting those livestock for future breeding and management purposes based on the ob polymorphisms.

Abstract: The present invention is a reversible, portable winch for attachment to a load-bearing structure. It includes a shaft for rotation; a take-up reel for winding and unwinding a flexible securing strap, the take-up reel being connected to the shaft and affixed thereto for rotation therewith; a flexible securing strap attached to the take-up reel at a first end thereof; a plurality of bidirectional pawl-engaging teeth located about the shaft and so as to prevent and permit rotation of the take-up reel and the shaft by being engaged and disengaged with a pawl; a winding mechanism connected to the shaft or the take-up reel for winding the shaft and the take-up reel; support for supporting the shaft and the pawl. The winch is connected via its shaft to a support and the pawl may be movably connected to the support as well. The present invention is also a portable winch component set for installation into a support at some later time.

Abstract: A needleless luer access connector is disclosed having a septum disposed in a housing. The septum has a proximal portion with a cross section, a medial portion with a cross section smaller than the cross section of the proximal portion, and a distal portion. A longitudinal slit extends through the septum from the proximal portion to the distal portion. The septum and housing are designed so that septum will not be rotated or removed from the housing when the connector is accessed by a male luer taper. In addition, the septum and housing are designed to bias the slit at the distal portion closed and so a male luer connector does not have to extend completely through the distal portion to open the slit at the distal portion. Finally, the septum and housing are designed to minimize the amount of dead space in the connector when accessed with a male luer taper.
