  • Publication number: 20180043772
Abstract: A transaxle is designed to accommodate a power take-off unit (PTU). The transaxle utilizes a chain to transmit power from the engine axis to the differential axis and utilizes planetary final drive gearing on the differential axis. The transaxle includes layshaft gearing to transfer power from the driven sprocket to a PTU axis, bypassing the planetary final drive gearing. The PTU may be fixedly driveably connected to the driven sprocket or selectively driveably connected via a dog clutch.

  • Patent number: 9537875
Abstract: At least some incoming traffic is distributed into a first set of traffic groups according to a first grouping scheme. Communication activity from a potentially malicious source may be grouped in a given traffic group in which communication activity from an acceptable source is also grouped. Potentially malicious communication activity is detected in the given traffic group. Traffic in the given traffic group is processed using a first traffic processing mode associated with potentially malicious communication activity, in which at least some traffic that is distributed into the given traffic group is discarded. In response to a dynamic trigger the grouping scheme is altered to one or more further grouping schemes in order that the communication activity from the acceptable source is likely to be subsequently grouped into a traffic group which is different to a group into which the communication activity from the potentially malicious source is subsequently grouped.

  • Publication number: 20160090831
Abstract: An electric auger-boring machine. The machine has electric motors for auger rotation and thrust. The electric rotation motor rotates the auger at a constant rate when the current provided is constant. The motor may slow or stop in response to changes in torque due to obstructions to auger rotation. Electric motors allow for auger thrusters and actuators to precisely operate. A wireless remote control controls motor and auger rotation and thrust from a distance away from a launch pit. Multiple sizes of product casings may be utilized and the auger-boring machine comprises an adjustable adaptor and saddle for use with a plurality of casing sizes.

  • Patent number: 9286657
Abstract: Systems and methods for processing an image through an ordered series of image filters (i.e., an image filter chain) to produce an output image. The systems and methods of the present disclosure function to partition or break-up an image into dynamically sized tiles which are processed efficiently (e.g., using minimal memory), quickly and on-demand. The systems and methods allow tile sizes to be calculated dynamically based on what each image filter in an image filter chain needs. By processing each tile on-demand, significant memory and time savings are achieved because only the parts of an image required for display are processed. Further, such functionality allows for decoding of only a portion of the image, which requires less memory and operates much faster than if the entire image was decoded.

  • Patent number: 9172626
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for preventing traffic congestion in a long term evolution (LTE) multi-user equipment (multi-UE) simulator device are disclosed. In one example, a method includes transmitting, from a first module to a second module over a shared bus, one of a plurality of LTE subframe signal portions at the beginning of a first transmission interval. The method further includes sending, from the first module to a third module over the shared bus, a trigger signal upon completing the transmission of the LTE signal portion. The method also includes forwarding, from the third module to the second module over the shared bus, decoded control information associated with at least one of the plurality of LTE subframe signal portions during an idle time period defined by the receipt of the trigger signal and the beginning of a second transmission interval.

  • Patent number: 9102976
Abstract: A kinase is used in a biological indicator for validation of treatment processes designed to reduce the amount or activity of a biological agent in a sample. The indication can be used for validation of sterilization treatment. The formation of ATP from a substrate comprising ADP is measured via the liciferin/luciferate system in a luminameter. Thermostable adenylate kinase from sulfolobus acidocaldarius is especially suitable for the validation of procedures to inactivate transmissable spongiform encephalopathy agents.

  • Patent number: 9016150
Abstract: A vehicle powertrain includes a transaxle configured to drive front wheels and a power take-off unit configured to drive rear wheels through a driveshaft. The power take-off unit includes a disconnect clutch such that the power flow path to the rear wheels can be disconnected to reduce fuel consumption and reconnected when needed for traction enhancement. Although the disconnect clutch is physically located within the power take-off unit, it is actuated by fluid from the transaxle valve body. The disconnect clutch actuator includes a piston that slides within a chamber in a housing and a solenoid controlled valve that fluidly connects the chamber either to a pressure source or to the transaxle sump.

  • Patent number: 8918994
Abstract: A method of balancing a crankshaft includes connecting a torsion-absorbing pendulum to a cheek of the crankshaft, which is coupled to a crankpin. As the pendulum connected to the cheek has insufficient mass to balance the crankshaft, a lightening bore is formed through a bisection plane of the cheek. In forming the lightening bore, enough material is removed from the cheek so that the mass of the pendulum becomes sufficient to balance the crankshaft.
