  • Publication number: 20090109081
Abstract: A mobile geophysical instrument produces geophysical data sets each associated with a position computed by use of a position sensor. A variable time delay results between a time when data for each geophysical data set is collected and a time when a position associated with each geophysical data set is recorded. A module receives distance transducer data and includes circuitry configured to generate a module signal based on trigger signals from the distance transducer and a calibration value. A data acquisition system (DAS) receives geophysical data sets from the geophysical instrument, positioning data from the positioning sensor, and the module signals. The DAS generates a DAS timestamp in response to each module signal and associates the DAS timestamp with each geophysical data set and a position associated with the geophysical data set, so as to substantially eliminate the variable time delay.

  • Patent number: 7511912
Abstract: Method and apparatus for certifying servo sectors on recording surfaces of a disc stack of a data storage device to promote servo sector alignment among the various recording surfaces. A reference servo sector pattern is written to a first recording surface, the reference pattern comprising a plurality of angularly spaced apart servo sectors. Multiple interleaved sets of servo sector patterns are written to each of the remaining recording surfaces, each interleaved pattern respectively comprising a plurality of angularly spaced apart servo sectors. A selected interleaved pattern is identified from each of the remaining surfaces that provides a desired alignment with the reference servo sector pattern, and the non-selected servo sector patterns are overwritten. The servo patterns can be written to the discs prior to installation using a multiple disc writing (MDW) station, or after installation of the discs into the data storage device using a servo track writing (STW) station.

  • Patent number: 7299577
Abstract: An illuminated identification system comprises a light chamber, a lighting means, an opaque identification stencil, a flashing means, a power on/off switch for the lighting means, and an on/off switch for the flashing means. The light chamber is environmentally sealed, and has one surface which is non-opaque. The lighting means is in series with a power source, and is located in the light chamber. The opaque identification stencil is placed over the non-opaque light chamber surface. When the power switch and the flashing means are both on, the flashing means causes the lighting means to flash on and off. Further, the power switch, and/or the on/off switch for the flashing means, may be operated by remote control.

  • Publication number: 20070252613
Abstract: The invention provides a universal leakage monitoring system (ULMS) to measure a plurality of leakage macros during the development of a manufacturing process or a normal operation period. The ULMS characterizes the leakage of both n-type and p-type CMOS devices on the gate dielectric leakage, the sub-threshold leakage, and the reverse biased junction leakage, and the like. Testing is performed sequentially from the first test macro up to the last test macro using an on-chip algorithm. When the last test macro is tested, it scans the leakage data out.

  • Patent number: 7251097
Abstract: The present invention recognizes that induced RRO is coherent, i.e., the RRO has a large degree of repeatability from track to track. The present invention is a zero acceleration profile (compensation) process that targets CRRO (Coherent RRO). A process of the present invention represents a considerable reduction in the factory calibration time compared to other compensation techniques currently used. The reduction in time is attributed to the fact that CRRO can be computed by averaging position error signals (PES) over multiple tracks as opposed to total RRO which is computed by averaging over multiple revolutions on the same track.

  • Publication number: 20070006120
Abstract: Described herein are methods and systems for providing software development services more efficiently. Re-computation of results each time a service request is received can be avoided by maintaining a cache of results from having processed requests. Results are stored under a unique mapping of request-results pairs that at least in part rely on a file fingerprint hash of the contents of the input files related to the request. In network environment with a client requester and service provider unnecessary transmission is also avoided by first presenting results for requests are in form of a unique file identifier identifying one or more files holding the content of the results. The file identifier is used to search a cache local to the requesting client prior to requesting transmission of the results. The file identifier may also include an indicator for indicating a location from which the results may be retrieved.
