  • Patent number: 7137077
Abstract: A freeform selection tool for a computer system with a graphical user interface allows a user to draw a freeform selection path so as to select one or more graphical objects. The user is provided with the freedom to input selection ink, in any orientation, and using any desired selection path size provided by the select tool. The selecting tool may change the visual appearance of any graphical object once selected. The selecting tool provides the ability to select ink or graphical object with a particular property to be used for the selection. The selecting tool can recognize various selection gestures coordinated with a semantic relationship of the ink so that the number of selection ink strokes can be minimized. The selecting tool may change for different selection modes depending on the type of graphical object encountered and change of the context for a particular selection.

  • Patent number: 7123770
Abstract: Flexible and efficient systems and methods for organizing, analyzing, and processing digital ink incrementally analyze input data (e.g., representing ink strokes) as the user continues to add to, edit, or modify the data. In this manner, processing is performed promptly as the ink is entered, and the processing system and method can effectively keep up with the user. This prevents long processing delays, because the systems and methods need not first process a large volume of ink data present after the user has entered has completely filled a page with ink.

  • Patent number: 7112147
Abstract: A golf club head includes a body having a front face with a cavity formed therein. The cavity has at least one aperture passing through the cavity bottom wall to the rear surface of the club head body. A face insert is installed in the cavity by applying an adhesive layer between the face insert and the bottom of the cavity. As the face insert is pressed into the cavity, air and any excess adhesive escapes through the aperture to the rear surface of the club where it can easily be removed by wiping with solvent.

  • Publication number: 20060196066
Abstract: Disclosed is a method of moving an articulating mechanism (22,410) for a measuring device, comprising the steps of: releasing two bodies (14,16, 410a,410b) which form the articulating mechanism allowing relative movement thereof; moving one of the bodies with respect to the other until a desired position is reached; and re-constraining the two bodies so they are relatively fixed, perhaps as part of a locking process, characterised in that relative movement prior to re-constraining at the desired position occurs under particular conditions. The particular conditions including moving from the same direction; and stopping, slowing down or maintaining the condition at a position adjacent to the desired position. Also disclosed is a method of positioning an articulating mechanism (22,410) for a measuring device which is controlled by a potentiometer and a controller (11) for a measuring device.

  • Patent number: 7097199
Abstract: An enhanced fastening assembly may be used, for example, to attach an emblem to an airbag cover. The fastening assembly may include the emblem and a backing member. The emblem may have a panel with a decorative surface and one or more protrusions extending from the opposite side of the panel. Each protrusion has a proximal end adjacent to the panel and a larger distal end. The protrusions extend through openings in the cover. The backing member has open-ended slots that receive the proximal ends to interfere with withdrawal of the distal ends through the openings. Tabs adjacent to the slots snap into position to abut the distal ends to restrict removal of the backing plate from the emblem. In one alternative embodiment, the emblem also has hooks that pass through additional holes in the cover and engage supplemental slots of the backing member to provide for more secure attachment.

  • Publication number: 20060143299
Abstract: A new connection wizard automatically detects available networking hardware, as well as networks that are available. The wizard then presents the user with a list of choices, i.e., different connection types that they can set up. This list of options is based on the hardware and networks that were detected initially. Thus, the wizard will only present the user with the connection types that can actually be utilized. Once the user has selected a connection type and completed the configuration through the wizard, the wizard will automatically test the connection and report success or failure to the user.
