  • Publication number: 20190160770
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a tire is provided that includes curing the tire (10) in a curing press (12) and applying microwave energy at a given frequency band into the tire. The interaction between the microwave energy and the tire is monitored to obtain a complex reflection coefficient. A root-mean-squared error is calculated using the measured complex reflection coefficient and a reference reflection coefficient. The reference reflection coefficient is from a fully cured tire made from the same material as the tire. Continuous monitoring of the interaction takes place to obtain the complex reflection coefficient along with continuous calculation of the root-mean-squared error at different times during the curing of the tire in the curing press. The calculated root-mean-squared errors are used to determine whether to stop the curing of the tire in the curing press.

  • Publication number: 20180346872
Abstract: Compositions and methods are described for preparing media, feeds, and supplements. Such methods and medias may display increased stability of labile components and may use, for example, microsuspension and/or encapsulation technologies, chelation, and optionally, coating and/or mixing the labile compounds with anti-oxidants. The compositions may withstand thermal and/or irradiation treatment and have reduced virus number. These techniques may result in product with extended shelf-life, extended release of their internal components into culture, or in product that can be added aseptically into a bioreactor using minimal volumes. The compositions and methods may optimize the bioproduction workflow and increase efficiency.

  • Publication number: 20180276075
Abstract: Provided are an apparatus and method for managing data storage. A first log structured array stores data in a storage device. A second log structured array in the storage device stores metadata for the data in the first log structured array, wherein the second log structured array storing the metadata for the first log structured data storage system is nested within the first log structured array, and wherein the first and second log structured arrays comprise separate instances of log structured arrays. Address space is allocated in the second log structured array for metadata when the allocation of address space is required for metadata for data stored in the first log structured array.

  • Patent number: 10006835
Abstract: A sensor device is provided for use in tire inspection along a bead portion of the tire. The sensor device includes a magnet array configured to provide the desired fields of magnet flux for a sensor array, which is used to detect damage to reinforcements of a body ply of the tire near the bead portion. The fields of magnetic flux are sufficient to provide for damage detection in the bead portion without overly saturating the sensor array. The sensor device also allows for positioning the sensor array proximate to the inner surface of the tire for improved detection.

  • Publication number: 20170370806
Abstract: A method of using a sensor device for tire inspection is provided. Signals are received from multiples rows of sensors separated by a predetermined distance. The sensors are positioned next to the inner surface of the tire for inspection.
