  • Publication number: 20220413659
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing an interface for managing invitations to communicate via a communication platform. In an example, a first user can access a first interface to invite a second user to communicate via the communication platform. In response to input from the first user via the first interface, the communication platform can generate an invitation for the second user to communicate with the first user and can provide the invitation to the second user, such as by causing the invitation to be presented via a second interface. The second user can submit a response to the invitation via the second interface. The communication platform can update the first interface and the second interface based on response, such as, in examples in which the second user accepts the invitation, to reflect a newly established connection between the first user and the second user.

  • Patent number: 11482577
Abstract: An apparatus is described that includes a light emitting diode (LED) display and a sensor. The LED display includes pixel emissive areas that are each coupled by a corresponding conductive trace to a corresponding pixel circuit that drives the respective pixel emissive area. The LED display has a high density region, a low density region, and a transition region between the high density region and the low density region. A pattern of the pixel circuits in the transition region matches a pattern of pixel circuits in the low density region, with at least some conductive traces that couple pixel emissive areas to pixel circuits in the transition region being longer than corresponding conductive traces that couple pixel emissive areas to pixel circuits in the low density region. The sensor is arranged to receive electromagnetic radiation transmitted through the low density region of the LED display.

  • Patent number: 11467721
Abstract: An augmented reality (AR) platform for the Internet of Things (IoT) is disclosed. The AR platform enables a user to associate AR objects with IoT devices. These associations may further enable a user to direct a control input to a particular IoT device and receive outputs such as sensor measurements or state information from the IoT device via interaction with an associated AR object. These AR objects may be perceived by the user via a client device, such as via an AR viewer or other human interface. The AR platform further enables users to create shareable objects that define an association among or between multiple AR objects and their IoT devices that can be shared with and modified by other users.

  • Patent number: 11354870
Abstract: A system for accurately positioning augmented reality (AR) content within a coordinate system such as the World Geodetic System (WGS) may include AR content tethered to trackable physical features. As the system is used by mobile computing devices, each mobile device may calculate and compare relative positioning data between the trackable features. The system may connect and group the trackable features hierarchically, as measurements are obtained. As additional measurements are made of the trackable features in a group, the relative position data may be improved, e.g., using statistical methods.

  • Patent number: 11354287
Abstract: Techniques of indexing a database and processing a query involve decomposing the residual term according to a projection matrix that is based on a given direction v. For example, for each database element of a partition, the residual for that database element is split into a component parallel to a given direction and a component perpendicular to that direction. The parallel component lies in a one-dimensional subspace spanned by the direction and may be efficiently quantized with a scalar quantization. The perpendicular component is quantized using multiscale quantization techniques. The quantized residual components and the center elements of each partition define the indexed database. Upon receipt of a query from a user, the inner products of q with the residual may be computed efficiently using the quantized residual components. From these inner products, the database elements that are most similar to the query are selected and returned to the user.

  • Publication number: 20210338317
Abstract: Disclosed herein is a tissue ablation device comprising a sheath and a probe. The sheath is positionable within body tissue and comprises a distal end, a proximal end and a lumen extending therebetween. The probe comprises an elongate portion configured to be slidably received in the lumen, the elongate portion housing an electrode that is deployable from a distal end of the probe's elongate portion into a substantially planar deployed configuration when the distal end of the elongate portion is located at or beyond the distal end of the sheath. An angle of deployment of the electrode from the distal end of the probe (and hence into the body tissue, in use) is selectable by orientating the probe with respect to the sheath.
