  • Patent number: 6714950
Abstract: Methods of reproducing and recreating original data are provided. A method of reproducing original data is provided wherein original data are received in a first format and native data are extracted from the original data in a second format. Moreover, derivative data are generated from the native data in a first format with the derivative data compared to the original data producing a difference data. The difference data are used with the native data to create a replica of the original data. Further, a method of recreating a replica of original data is provided comprising receiving native data in a native format which are extracted from an original data in an original format. Also, derivative data are generated from the native data in an original format. A replica of the original data is reproduced by using the derivative data and difference data, wherein the difference data identify differences between the derivative data and the original data.

  • Patent number: 6649868
Abstract: A light-tight laser enclosure system including an enclosure, a robotic laser, first and second pass through partitions, and first and second rotary positioners. The robotic laser is positioned within an interior volume of the enclosure and defines a processing envelope. The first pass through partition defines a first passage in selective communication with interior and exterior volumes of the enclosure, and is configured to maintain a light-tight configuration as the first passage is placed in selective communication with the interior and exterior volumes. The second pass through partition defines a second passage in selective communication with interior and exterior volumes of the enclosure, and is configured to maintain a light-tight configuration as the second passage is placed in selective communication with the interior and exterior volumes. The first and second rotary positioners are configured to secure a workpiece within the first and the second passages, respectively.

  • Publication number: 20020167373
Abstract: An ultrafast sampling system includes an interposer and a sampler that include series of Schottky diodes configured with a non-parallel waveguide to form shocklines or nonlinear transmission line (NLTLs) that produce a differential strobe pulse. The shocklines are defined by non-parallel conductors that are configured as, for example, triangular, dentate, arcuate, or other shapes, or as conductors that have edges that are triangular, dentate, arcuate, or the like. The conductors are defined with respect to a substrate, and are airbridged so that at least some portions of the conductors are displaced from the substrate to reduce waveguide capacitance. Electrical connection to the sampler is made with airline having a inner conductor that is deformable to contact an input pad defined on the sampler.

  • Publication number: 20020083265
Abstract: Methods of increasing cache capacity are provided. A method of increasing cache capacity is provided wherein original data are received in a cache with access to one or more variants of the original data being required, but the variants do not reside in the cache. Access is provided to the variants by using one or more delta data operable to be applied against the original data to produce the variants Moreover, a method of reducing cache storage requirements is provided wherein original data and variants of the original data are identified and located within the cache. Further, delta data are produced by noting one or more differences between the original data and the variants, with the variants being purged from the cache. Furthermore, a method of producing derivatives from an original data is provided wherein the original data and variants of the original data are identified.

  • Patent number: 6264607
Abstract: A cylindrical test object for use in calibrating an ultrasonic bone analyzer has opposing ends that each contain a transducer seat optimized to allow intimate acoustic contact in spite of mechanical errors such as might be encountered in a scanning system. The test object is made of material having known ultrasonic characteristics. When opposing transducers are placed in the test object transducer seats, the test object is lifted off the holder and is free to rotate and translate over sufficient range to compensate for variances in the relative positions of the transducers. The shapes of the transducer ends and transducer seats are chosen to allow intimate acoustic contact in spite of any such translation or rotation. The test object may be a solid or a liquid encased in a solid.
