  • Publication number: 20230082946
Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed to changing error mitigation protocols used for a connection based on the quality of a network connection in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include determining, by network equipment comprising a processor, that a quality of a connection between a user equipment and a network access point is below a connection quality threshold, with the connection employing a communications protocol using a first error mitigation process, and where the network access point enables respective access to services enabled via a communication network. The method can further include, based on the quality and the first error mitigation process, enabling, by the network equipment, a second error mitigation process of the communications protocol of the connection, the second error mitigation process being different than the first error mitigation process.

  • Publication number: 20230053339
Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed to handling communication link failures in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include determining that a first connection by a first user equipment to a network access point failed, resulting in a determined connection failure, with the network access point enabling respective access to services enabled via a communication network. The method can further include, based on a result of an analysis of the determined connection failure, identifying, by the network equipment, a geographic area associated with the determined connection failure. Further, based on measurements collected within the geographic area, designating, in a data store by the network equipment, the geographic area as a blocked geographic area.

  • Publication number: 20230054925
Abstract: An architecture to eliminate situations in which aerial user equipment become unreachable by core mobile network operator equipment as a consequence of radio link failure events. A method comprises determining, based on type data, that a user equipment is an aerial user equipment, initiating a discontinuous reception timer device using defined time values, transmitting downlink data addressed to the aerial user equipment, determining, based on an expiration of the defined time values as measured by the discontinuous reception timer device and acknowledgement data associated with the transmitting of the downlink data, that the aerial user equipment is unreachable, and based on the aerial user equipment being unreachable, sending request data to base station equipment, wherein the request data facilitates the base station equipment to terminate a communication channel that links the base station equipment to the aerial user equipment.

  • Publication number: 20230057679
Abstract: The technologies described herein are generally directed to establishing multiple connectivity connections in a fifth generation (5G) network or other next generation networks. For example, a method described herein can include determining, by network equipment comprising a processor, that a geographic area comprises network access points that enable respective access to services enabled via a communication network. The method can further include determining that a connection to use the services enabled via the communication network failed, between a user equipment and a network access point of the network access points, resulting in a determined connection failure. Further, based on a result of analysis of the determined connection failure, the method can include communicating an instruction to the user equipment to delay evaluating a provision of the connection by the network access point until expiration of a time interval.
