Patent number: 10652353Abstract: Technologies for communication with direct data placement include a number of computing nodes in communication over a network. Each computing node includes a many-core processor having an integrated host fabric interface (HFI) that maintains an association table (AT). In response to receiving a message from a remote device, the HFI determines whether the AT includes an entry associating one or more parameters of the message to a destination processor core. If so, the HFI causes a data transfer agent (DTA) of the destination core to receive the message data. The DTA may place the message data in a private cache of the destination core. Message parameters may include a destination process identifier or other network address and a virtual memory address range. The HFI may automatically update the AT based on communication operations generated by software executed by the processor cores. Other embodiments are described and claimed.Type: GrantFiled: September 24, 2015Date of Patent: May 12, 2020Assignee: Intel CorporationInventors: James Dinan, Venkata Krishnan, Srinivas Sridharan, David A. Publication number: 20090236448Abstract: A lower filter for a fuel injector includes a disk having an annular shape and including a plurality of filter holes. The disk is positioned upstream of a valve guide of an internal valve assembly without contacting the valve guide. The disk prevents internally generated contaminants contained in fuel flowing through the filter holes from reaching a valve guide area and a sealing area of the internal valve assembly. By installing the lower filter upstream of the valve guide and without contact to the valve guide, interference with the guidance and reciprocal movement of the valve is avoided. Application of the lower filter in fuel injectors may reduce the occurrence of injector failures by reducing the number of stuck open conditions in injectors and by reducing the number of hydro lock engine incidents without interference with the valve guide.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2008Publication date: September 24, 2009Inventors: Kimberly Burkhard, Allan R. Wells, Dominic N. Dalo, David A. Webb, Otto Muller-Girard, JR., Vicki A. Flynn, Peter R. Wendt

Publication number: 20090121049Abstract: An internal lower filter for a fuel injector includes a self-supporting guide guiding a reciprocably activated valve of an internal valve assembly of a fuel injector and a plurality of filter holes formed in said guide filtering fuel flowing through the fuel injector and preventing contaminants contained in the fuel from entering a sealing area of the internal valve assembly. Incorporating the guide filter in accordance with the invention in a fuel injector enables capturing particles or contaminants, generated within the fuel injector during assembly or during operation, before entering the sealing area of an internal valve assembly. Accordingly, failure modes of the injector, such as a stuck open condition that may lead to a hydraulic lock of the engine, can be reduced. By forming the filter holes in a typically used ball guide, no changes are required to the currently used assembly line equipment or the current assembly process.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 13, 2007Publication date: May 14, 2009Inventors: Vicki A. Flynn, Allan R. Wells, Dominic N. Dalo, David A. Webb, Otto Muller-Girard, JR., Ross G. Laing

Patent number: 7438055Abstract: A fuel injection system includes a fuel injector socket including a first attachment feature and a fuel injector including a second attachment feature that corresponds with the first attachment feature. The first attachment feature engages with the second attachment feature connecting the fuel injector to the fuel injector socket and preventing rotational movement of the fuel injector relative to the fuel injector socket. The corresponding attachment features not only enable simple connection and disconnection of a fuel injector to a fuel injector socket of a fuel rail, but can also be integrated into existing injector to fuel rail assembly processes and are applicable in any fuel injection system. The corresponding attachment features may be used with metal fabricated fuel rail assemblies as well as for fuel rail assemblies where the manifold supply tube and the fuel injector sockets are overmolded with a plastic material.Type: GrantFiled: July 11, 2007Date of Patent: October 21, 2008Assignee: Delphi Technologies, IncInventors: Wenbin Xu, David A. Patent number: 5507955Abstract: In a method of operating a bank of parallel hydrocyclone separators for deoiling water, each separator has a mixture inlet, an overflow oil outlet and an underflow water outlet. The flow through at least one separator is sensed, either directly, or indirectly by sensing the pressure difference across the separator. If the flow approaches a threshold below which there is insufficient flow for satisfactory operation, an additional supply of water is fed to the mixture inlet fo the separators.Type: GrantFiled: March 16, 1993Date of Patent: April 16, 1996Assignee: Merpro Montassa LimitedInventor: David A. Patent number: 5282645Abstract: An electro-hydraulic valve assembly includes a center pole mounting an electric solenoid assembly and slidably received in a valve boss. The solenoid assembly controls the fluid pressure in a chamber defined in the center pole. Fluid in the chamber is biased against a deflectable disc which controls fluid flow through the valve assembly. Control of electric current to the solenoid assembly controls fluid pressure in the chamber and, thus, fluid flow through the valve assembly. When utilized with a damper and a controller, the present valve assembly provides continuously variable damping in real time.Type: GrantFiled: November 25, 1992Date of Patent: February 1, 1994Assignee: General Motors CorporationInventors: Joseph G. Spakowski, David A. Webb, Christopher B. Coolican
