  • Patent number: 12109654
Abstract: A spacer assembly and method for using same to fix a first component to a second component are provided. The method includes positioning the first and second spacer segments between the first and second components, the first and second spacer segments each including an inner face, an opposite outer face, and an exterior surface extending along a longitudinal axis between the inner face and the outer face. The exterior surfaces of the first and second spacer segments are coaxially aligned and secured by a securing device such that the inner faces of the first and second spacer segments define supplementary non-perpendicular angles relative to the longitudinal axis and the outer faces of the first and second spacer segments are parallel to one another. The securing device and the first and second spacer segments are removed after the first component is mechanically coupled to the second component.

  • Publication number: 20240331568
Abstract: This invention presents a method and system for displaying text strings on an electronic display to reduce visual interference and enhance readability. The method involves receiving first and corresponding second text strings, which are translations or transliterations, and displaying them in paired formats. In some embodiments, horizontal offsets between the primary and secondary substrings, selective indentations, and real-time dynamic adjustments are made based on update conditions. The display format emphasizes clarity through distinct styling and careful spacing between substring pairs, preventing overlap and visual confusion. The system comprises processing circuitry and memory with executable instructions to implement these functionalities, ensuring optimal readability for bilingual or multilingual texts. This technology is particularly useful in digital educational tools and multilingual documentation, facilitating easier reading and comprehension.

  • Patent number: 12103381
Abstract: A differential includes a disconnect feature. When in a disengaged state, the drive gear is decoupled from the differential carrier. As a result, the portions of the powertrain that would provide propulsion through the differential may be stationary and parasitic drag is decreased. The differential is transitioned into an engaged state by providing electrical current in a solenoid coil fixed to the housing. A solenoid piston acts through a thrust bearing to slide a sleeve, thereby coupling the carrier to the drive gear.

  • Patent number: 12097929
Abstract: A gearbox may include a drive spindle and several interconnected gear clusters arranged in a housing. A first of the gear clusters is coaxially fastened to the spindle, and has an outboard gear and an inboard gear. The first gear cluster drives a belt to operate one or more of the other gear clusters, and the inboard gear is physically divided into a plurality of segments. A shifting system for the gearbox includes an actuator configured to urge the segments of the inboard gear of the first gear cluster into and out of the plane of the belt, such that a gear ratio of the gearbox is changeable without displacing the belt out of the plane.

  • Patent number: 12092369
Abstract: A combustion air blower includes a blower housing, an impeller fan within the blower housing, and an embossment to restrict airflow from the combustion air blower. The blower housing has a discharge conduit defining a discharge passageway. The discharge conduit is adapted and configured to receive a baffle such that, when the baffle is received, the baffle extends inwardly into the discharge passageway from a first wall towards a second wall opposite the first wall. The baffle restricts airflow within the discharge passageway. The embossment is in the discharge passageway and in the second wall and extends towards the first wall such that the embossment restricts airflow within the discharge passageway. The embossment cooperates with a baffle to provide a reduced cross sectional area of the discharge passageway in comparison to an upstream portion.

  • Publication number: 20240289812
Abstract: Systems, methods, and computer program products for alarm response automation in manufacturing, distribution, and general supply chain environments. Sensors categorized as part of an industrial IoT environment are used to detect asset health, including asset abnormalities and trends. Alarm exceptions generate actionable events, which are used to invoke a multi-tiered, hierarchical application of asset entitlements. This data guidance provides enhanced alarm response automation via intelligent filtration and consolidation by grouping recurrent or related alarms from assets, models, model types, components, customers, and sites into a single actionable event. This actionable event has its own unique categorizations that work in concert. At any point, additional, definable processes may be executed to further refine the data. The resulting layered, asset entitlement approach thereby creates a high level of filtration and intelligence from the IoT-generated data.

  • Publication number: 20240277606
Abstract: Described herein are methods for providing the pulsed delivery of a 5HT2A agonist to a subject upon administration of a device to the subject. The device is composed of biodegradable polymers such that when administered to the subject, the polymers on the surface of the device erode, releasing the bioactive agent. In one aspect, the device is composed of alternating layers of biodegradable polymers, where every other layer includes the bioactive agent. In a further aspect, one or more of the layers are composed of a mixture of cellulose acetate phthalate (CAP) and a poloxamer. The layers that do not include the bioactive agent functions as “blanks,” which can be used to control the release rate of the bioactive agent. In a still further aspect, one or more sides of the device can be coated such that the bioactive agent is released from only one side of the device.

  • Patent number: 12065217
Abstract: A method for shifting a segmented gear may include rotating a gear cluster including a first gear and a coaxial second gear using a power transfer mechanism (e.g., a belt or a chain). The power transfer mechanism defines a plane and is wrapped partially around the first gear. and wherein the first gear has a plurality of gear segments independently movable (e.g., pivotable or translatable) into and out of the plane. A plurality of radially transitionable sliders are rotated in tandem with the first gear, and each of the sliders is operatively coupled to a corresponding one of the gear segments of the first gear. In sequence, each segment of the first gear is moved out of the plane of the power transfer mechanism by urging the slider in a radial direction using a segment actuator, such that the power transfer mechanism wraps at least partially around the second gear.

  • Publication number: 20240274303
Abstract: A controlled fusion reactor that is constructed using two opposing bowl-shaped magnetic arrays that are covered by U.S. Pat. No. 8,638,186 B1 by the same inventor. The opposing bowl-shaped magnetic arrays are contained within a chamber under a high vacuum level and can be fed a controlled amount of a gas, such as hydrogen. Electrodes located in the bottom of the bowl-shaped arrays and the conductive screens surrounding the rim of the bowl-shaped magnetic arrays are supplied with high-voltage electricity which causes a high-velocity jet of plasma to be ejected from each opposing bowl-shaped magnetic array. The construction of the fusion reactor is such that the plasma jets collide in the middle of the reactor between the two bowl-shaped magnetic arrays. An additional element, such as boron, is fed to the reactor when the goal is the fusion of elements such as hydrogen and boron.

  • Publication number: 20240271667
Abstract: A shaft coupler having first and second spindles adapted to be secured to a first and second output shafts of first and second motors, respectively. A locker ring is assembled to the first spindle, and a locker carrier is assembled to the second spindle. A coil is carried by the locker carrier and switches between an energized state wherein the coil shifts the locker ring to slide into engagement with the second spindle to lock the first and second output shafts together, and a deenergized state wherein a spring biases the locker ring out of engagement with the second spindle to unlock the first and second output shafts from each other. A first set of locking teeth are disengaged from a second set of locking teeth when the coil is deenergized, and are engaged when the coil is energized.

  • Patent number: 12061909
Abstract: An execution unit circuit for use in a processor core provides efficient use of area and energy by reducing the per-entry storage requirement of a load-store unit issue queue. The execution unit circuit includes a recirculation queue that stores the effective address of the load and store operations and the values to be stored by the store operations. A queue control logic controls the recirculation queue and issue queue so that that after the effective address of a load or store operation has been computed, the effective address of the load operation or the store operation is written to the recirculation queue and the operation is removed from the issue queue, so that address operands and other values that were in the issue queue entry no longer require storage. When a load or store operation is rejected by the cache unit, it is subsequently reissued from the recirculation queue.
