Abstract: An identity verification system is disclosed for identifying a user based on the classification of user characteristic data. The identity verification system receives a request for access to an operational context that comprises authentication credentials representing an identity of a requesting target user. The system authenticates the identity of the requesting target user by determining an identity confidence value describing a likelihood that an identity of the requesting target user matches the identity represented by the authentication credentials. The system determines a proximity of the requesting target user to the operational context by determining a distance between a location of the requesting computing device and a location of an authenticating computing device operated by the requesting target user. The system grants the request from the requesting target user for access to the operational context if the requesting target user is within a threshold proximity of the operational context.

  • Publication number: 20230115815
Abstract: A process for converting a first hydrocarbon feed stream to one or more liquid transportation fuels in a petroleum refinery where the feed stream is analyzed by at least one analytical method to produce data that is transformed to wavelet coefficients data. A pattern recognition algorithm is trained to recognize subtle features in the wavelet coefficients data that are associated with an attribute of the feed stream. The trained pattern recognition algorithm then rapidly classifies potential hydrocarbon feed streams as a member of either a first group or a second group where the second group comprises hydrocarbon feed streams where the attribute or chemical characteristic at or above a predetermined threshold value. This classification allows rapid decisions to be made regarding utilization of the feedstock in the refinery that may include altering at least one variable in the operation of the refinery.

  • Publication number: 20230112035
Abstract: Provided are methods and compositions for treating kidney disease, such as chronic kidney disease (CKD), in which the methods and compositions comprise antibodies or an antigen binding fragment thereof that specifically and selectively bind to human ?v?8 integrin, which was discovered, as described, to be highly expressed on kidney cells and tissue, and, in particular, diseased or fibrotic kidney tissue. The disclosed anti-?v?8 integrin antibodies bind to human ?v?8 integrin in the kidney and block the activation of TGF-? from its latent form in kidney tissue. The anti-?v?8 antibodies in the disclosed methods reduce, attenuate, or abrogate kidney fibrosis, which is associated with the activities of ?v?8 integrin and TGF-? in kidney tissue. The disclosed antibodies and methods effectively treat kidney disease, in particular, fibrosis associated with kidney disease, such as CKD, in individuals in need thereof.

  • Publication number: 20230113986
Abstract: A process for producing liquid transportation fuels in a petroleum refinery while preventing or minimizing corrosion of refinery process equipment. Spectral data selected from mid-infrared spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometry, or both is obtained and converted to wavelets coefficients data. A pattern recognition genetic algorithm is then trained to recognize subtle features in the wavelet coefficients data to allow classification of crude samples into one of two groups based on corrosion propensity. One of several actions is taken depending upon the measured corrosion propensity of the potential feed stock in order to prevent or minimize corrosion while producing one or more liquid hydrocarbon fuels.

  • Publication number: 20230116242
Abstract: A thin form of an electrical connector for creating a detachable connection between two circuit elements is disclosed. When the connector is employed, only an outer electrode present on a portion of the connector is exposed to the ambient environment and the rest of the electronics of both the connector and of a device into which the device is integrated can be insulated from the ambient environment. The parts of the connector can create a small three-dimensional interlock structure to seal off contact area and to facilitate electrical contacts between two circuit elements. The connector structure is flexible, allowing the connector to be embedded into a curved surface of a device that can use the electrode exposed to the environment to obtain data regarding the environment.

  • Publication number: 20230116896
Abstract: A method and system are herein disclosed wherein a robot handles objects that are large, unwieldy, highly-deformable, or otherwise difficult to contain and carry. The robot is operated to navigate an environment and detect and classify objects using a sensing system. The robot determines the type, size and location of objects and classifies the objects based on detected attributes. Grabber pad arms and grabber pads move other objects out of the way and move the target object onto the shovel to be carried. The robot maneuvers objects into and out of a containment area comprising the shovel and grabber pad arms following a process optimized for the type of object to be transported. Large, unwieldy, highly deformable, or otherwise difficult to maneuver objects may be managed by the method disclosed herein.
