  • Publication number: 20220376795
Abstract: According to an example, a transmitter transmits a plurality of optical signals of multiple wavelengths via an optical link to a receiver. An optical link tuner coupled to the optical link groups the plurality of optical signals into a first group of optical signals and a second group of optical signals, where the first group of optical signals has a first wavelength range and the second group of optical signals has a second wavelength range. The optical link tuner adjusts link tuning parameters associated with the first group of optical signals during a first phase, such that the second group of optical signals is propagated to the receiver without modifications to link tuning parameters associated with the second group, where during the first phase the receiver is to detect unplugging of the optical link based on the second group of optical signals.

  • Publication number: 20220374148
Abstract: Systems and techniques for reducing probabilistic filter query latency are described herein. A query for a probabilistic filter that is stored on a first media may be received from a caller. In response to receiving the query, cached segments of the probabilistic filter stored on a second media may be obtained. Here, the probabilistic filter provides a set membership determination that is conclusive in a determination that an element is not in a set. The query may be executed on the cached segments resulting in a partial query result. Retrieval of remaining data of the probabilistic filter from the first media to the second media may be initiated without intervention from the caller. Here, the remaining data corresponds to the query and data that is not in the cached segment. The partial query results may then be returned to the caller.

  • Publication number: 20220377231
Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product for determining a core-to-ferrule offset of a ferrule for a fiber optic connector. A reference ferrule is physically aligned with a core imager by positioning the reference ferrule so that edges of the reference ferrule in a plurality of profile images are aligned with fiducial markers in the images. The reference ferrule is incrementally rotated about its longitudinal center access, a core image captured at each rotational angle, and a reference core-to-ferrule offset determined based on the core images. A test ferrule is physically aligned with the core imager by positioning the test ferrule so that edges of the test ferule are aligned with the edges of the reference ferrule in a plurality of profile images. The core-to-ferrule offset of the test ferrule is then determined based on an offset between the test and reference cores in a composite core image.

  • Publication number: 20220376740
Abstract: A network controller receives link metrics for network links on cables between network devices in a communication network. The link metrics include metrics indicative of crosstalk experienced by network links among the network links on cables. The network controller determines, based at least in part on the link metrics, respective link settings for respective network links among the network links. The link settings are determined to mitigate crosstalk experienced by the respective network links as a result of transmission of signals in at least some of the network links at baud rates that correspond to bandwidths that exceed maximum bandwidth ratings of respective cables of the corresponding ones of the network links. The network controller causes configuration of the respective network links based on the link settings to optimize performance across the plurality of network links in the communication network.
