  • Publication number: 20230052043
Abstract: Described apparatuses and methods track access metadata pertaining to activity within respective address ranges. The access metadata can be used to inform prefetch operations within the respective address ranges. The prefetch operations may involve deriving access patterns from access metadata covering the respective ranges. Suitable address range sizes for accurate pattern detection, however, can vary significantly from region to region of the address space based on, inter alia, workloads produced by programs utilizing the regions. Advantageously, the described apparatuses and methods can adapt the address ranges covered by the access metadata for improved prefetch performance. A data structure may be used to manage the address ranges in which access metadata are tracked. The address ranges can be adapted to improve prefetch performance through low-overhead operations implemented within the data structure.

  • Patent number: 11580432
Abstract: System monitors and methods of monitoring a system are disclosed. In one arrangement a system monitor predicts a future state of a system. A data receiving unit receives system data representing a set of one or more measurements performed on the system. A first statistical model is fitted to the system data. The first statistical model is compared to each of a plurality of dictionary entries in a database. Each dictionary entry comprises a second statistical model. The second statistical model is of the same general class as the first statistical model and obtained by fitting the second statistical model to data representing a set of one or more previous measurements performed on a system of the same type as the system being monitored and having a known subsequent state. A prediction of a future state of the system being monitored is output based on the comparison. The first statistical model and the second statistical model are each a stochastic process or approximation to a stochastic process.

  • Patent number: 11582239
Abstract: A method and processing system for managing user access to one or more resources is disclosed. A central service may receive an access change request message regarding a user. The access change request message may include a user identifier, a user role, and an access action for the user. Example access actions may include adding or removing user access with respect to a resource. The central service may determine which resources are associated with the user role and transmit one or more event messages to the resources to implement the access actions. The resources may send acknowledgement messages to the central service to confirm that the access actions have been completed.

  • Publication number: 20230040277
Abstract: A tool, such as a tape measure, including a spring-based retraction system is shown. Various spring-based retraction system embodiments are configured to decrease the size occupied by the spring within the tape measure housing, which consequently reduces tape measure housing size providing a more compact tape measure. Various spring-based retraction system embodiments are configured to control retraction of the tape measure in a manner that reduces whip or otherwise controls tape blade retraction. Some retraction system embodiments utilize a reduction gear train, and others utilize a compression spring and a transmission system that converts rotational movement of the tape reel to axial movement, which compresses the spring.

  • Publication number: 20230031680
Abstract: Described apparatuses and methods balance memory-portion accessing. Some memory architectures are designed to accelerate memory accesses using schemes that may be at least partially dependent on memory access requests being distributed roughly equally across multiple memory portions of a memory. Examples of such memory portions include cache sets of cache memories and memory banks of multibank memories. Some code, however, may execute in a manner that concentrates memory accesses in a subset of the total memory portions, which can reduce memory responsiveness in these memory types. To account for such behaviors, described techniques can shuffle memory addresses based on a shuffle map to produce shuffled memory addresses. The shuffle map can be determined based on a count of the occurrences of a reference bit value at bit positions of the memory addresses. Using the shuffled memory address for memory requests can substantially balance the accesses across the memory portions.

  • Patent number: 11568468
Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a system, method, and computer program for automatically providing similar product recommendations for sold-out products promoted on non-merchant publisher sites, wherein the similar product recommendations are filtered for publisher preferences. A computer system with a product database provides a platform that enables non-merchant publishers to search products in the database, create call-to-actions on publisher sites for products in the database, and automatically receive similar product recommendations when end users of the publisher sites attempt to purchase promoted products that are now sold out. Once a publisher creates a call-to-action for a product that subsequently becomes sold out, similar product recommendations are provided without requiring any action on the publisher's part to change the publisher's site. Similar product recommendations are tailored to each publisher to account for publisher preferences.

  • Publication number: 20230003820
Abstract: The disclosure is directed to an Echo-Planar-Imaging (EPI) magnetic resonance imaging techniques combined with a variable-density undersampling scheme. The technique comprises generating an RF pulse, applying a switched frequency-encoding read out gradient in a variable time interval, and applying simultaneously an intermittently blipped low-magnitude phase-encoding gradient with a variable value of an integral of the phase-encoding gradient. The aforementioned steps are carried out such that the k-space is at least partially undersampled and the time interval of one read out gradient is varied depending on the integral of the phase encoding gradient, such that a ratio between the variable time interval of the read out gradient and the integral of the corresponding phase encoding gradient is kept above or at a predetermined constant value, which is related to a predetermined criteria of image quality.

  • Publication number: 20230004580
Abstract: A method for tagging and organizing data is provided. In one example, physiological data detected from a wearer of a wearable device is received and associated with a tag based, at least in art, on an input by the wearer. The input may be a state of the wearer, such as physical or mental state, or a rule. The collected physiological data may be organized based on the tag and, in some examples, on other types of received data, such as a wearer's personal data. In other example methods, data may be stored in a database based on one or more tags associated with the data.

  • Patent number: 11544318
Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory computer-readable media can generate an address associated with an image. The address can be generated to embed a parameter that specifies a quantity of image portions for representing a particular version of the image. A request can be acquired from a client device for an instance of the image. The request can include the address that embeds the parameter. It can be determined whether a predefined version of the image is stored at an edge server. The predefined version can utilize a predefined quantity of image portions to represent the image. The particular version of the image can be generated, in response to the request for the instance of the image and when the predefined version is stored at the edge server, based on at least a portion of the predefined version and based on the quantity of image portions specified by the parameter.
