  • Publication number: 20140182572
Abstract: An apparatus for crossbows. The crossbow has a stock attached to a bow and the bolt has an arrowhead attached to a shaft. The apparatus includes an arrowhead bracket attached to the stock, the arrowhead bracket having a first arm containing a first receptacle and a second arm containing a second receptacle. The apparatus may include a hood operatively attached to a cap, the hood being operatively configured to receive the arrowhead. The hood may be engagable with the first or second receptacle. The apparatus may contain a brace positioned on one side of the stock and having a first leg pivotally attached to a second leg and wherein said first leg is configured to engage the shaft of the bolt. The apparatus may also include a selective attachment member that will selectively attach the first and second leg together when the legs are pivoted together.

  • Patent number: 8607772
Abstract: A flight track assembly of a crossbow stock having a base component dimensioned to attach to an upper portion of the crossbow stock and a flight track component disposed on an upper surface of the base component. The flight track component is formed by one continuous piece or two rails. The flight track component is secured to the base component by an attachment mechanism. For example, the attachment mechanism is a projection extending from a lower surface of the flight track component designed to slide into a recess in the upper surface of the base component. Alternatively, the attachment mechanism is a projection extending from the lower surface of the flight track component designed to engage a cooperating projection on the upper surface of the base component.

  • Patent number: 8471731
Abstract: A system and method for determining when a LED-based position light is nearing its end of life by providing to maintenance personnel visible indication that end of life is approaching. An example system includes a controller, a main LED light, an indicator LED light, a first elapsed time counter, a second elapsed time counter, and an oscillator. The first elapsed time counter recognizes when a first time threshold is exceeded, causing the indicator LED light to flash and triggering the second elapsed time counter to start counting. The second elapsed time counter recognizes when a second time threshold is exceeded, disabling both the indicator LED light and the main LED lights, thereby notifying maintenance personnel that the main LED lights have reached their end of life.

  • Patent number: 8439024
Abstract: A multi-purpose crossbow cocking device having two handles attached by a draw cord or string. Slidably affixed to the cord are a pair of pulley members having hooks that engage a bow string of a crossbow. The handles may have an inner cavity. One or both of the handles may contain one or more Allen wrenches pivotally connected to the handle within the inner cavity. In its retracted position, the Allen wrench is housed within the inner cavity. In its extended position, the distal end of the Allen wrench is placed external of the handle's inner cavity and may be used to drive a bolt or screw with a hexagonal shaft head. The Allen wrenches may be different sizes.

  • Patent number: 8403530
Abstract: One or more layers of LEDs shine light into an array of elliptical reflectors. Each elliptical reflector has an LED at one focal point and shares the second focal point with a larger parabolic reflector that collimates the light. A hole in the center of the parabolic reflector receives additional LEDs, with or without collimation optics.

  • Patent number: 8337059
Abstract: A lighting assembly for movable control surfaces of a vehicle. The light assembly includes a lens, a plurality of light-emitting diodes (LEDs) and a housing that receives the plurality of LEDs and the lens. The housing of the light assembly is received within the movable control surface, such that the lens is flush with a surface of the movable control surface. The light assembly includes a plurality of reflectors. The plurality of LEDs is rotatably mounted within the housing. The light assembly includes a controller that controls the position of the LEDs relative to the housing, based on a received control signal.

  • Publication number: 20120313547
Abstract: Low weight, low cost, low complexity systems and methods for performing large thermal transfer during worst-case conditions to ensure a light-emitting diode (LED) light. An exemplary device includes a housing with a sealed cavity, a circuit board having a first side attached to one side of the housing, a plurality of light sources attached to a second side of the circuit board and a material located within the sealed cavity. The material changes phase at a predefined temperature. The housing includes a plurality of protrusions that extend into the cavity. The housing and the protrusions transfer heat generated by the light sources into the material. The plurality of light sources include light-emitting diodes (LEDs). A plurality of optical elements direct light generated by the LEDs. The optical elements are attached to the circuit board.
