  • Patent number: 10199821
Abstract: A control device for an electrical protection circuit for use in an alternating current system including a transformer is disclosed. An example system includes a first measurement probe, a second measurement probe configured to measure an electrical property within the electrical protection circuit, and a control module, including a processing device. The control module is configured to monitor a measurement from the first measurement probe and transmit a protection activation control signal to the switch assembly based on the measurement from the first measurement probe exceeding a first predetermined threshold. The control module is also configured to monitor a measurement from the second measurement probe and transmit a protection deactivation control signal to the switch assembly based on the measurement from the second measurement probe satisfying a second predetermined threshold.

  • Patent number: 10169450
Abstract: A semantic search engine is enhanced to employ user preferences to customize answer output by, for a first user, extracting user preferences and sentiment levels associated with a first question; receiving candidate answer results of a semantic search of the first question; weighting the candidate answer results according to the sentiment levels for each of the user preferences; and producing the selected candidate answers to the first user. Optionally, user preferences and sentiment levels may be accumulated over different questions for the same user, or over different users for similar questions. And, supplemental information may be retrieved relative to a user preference in order to further tune the weighting per the preferences and sentiment levels.

  • Patent number: 10136567
Abstract: Methods and devices for shielding electronic equipment within an enclosure are disclosed. One method includes positioning electronic equipment within an interior volume of a shielding enclosure having an opening providing access to the interior volume, the opening surrounded by an enclosure frame. The method further includes closing a door to the shielding enclosure, thereby closing off the opening, and engaging one or more latches to affix the door in a closed position, the door including a shielding curtain positioned across the opening. The method also includes inflating an inflatable member positioned along a perimeter of the door frame, thereby applying a uniform pressure to the shielding curtain toward the enclosure frame to form a seal therebetween.

  • Patent number: 10077982
Abstract: A system includes a tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) module coupled with a wheel on a vehicle and a vehicle navigation system of the vehicle. A method entails determining a movement signal at the TPMS module and receiving the movement signal at the vehicle navigation system. The vehicle navigation system includes an inertial sensor system configured to supply motion signals indicative of motion of the vehicle and the vehicle navigation system determines output data in response to the motion signals. The vehicle navigation system output data is calibrated at the vehicle navigation system by utilizing movement signals from the TPMS module to remove an error component from the vehicle navigation system output data. Thus, calibration can be performed in lieu of or in addition to utilizing signals from satellites, which may not be available at all times.

  • Publication number: 20180226796
Abstract: Methods and systems for ensuring operation of one or more circuit breakers electrically connected on a phase of a multi-phase power line on a transformer electrically connected within a power grid at a substation are disclosed. The method includes detecting, at the transformer, a direct current component of a multi-phase power signal received at the transformer, the direct current component comprising a direct current received at a transformer neutral, the transformer neutral being electrically connected to a ground. The method further includes determining whether the direct current is above a predetermined threshold, the predetermined threshold being based on a determination that, above the predetermined threshold, at least one of the one or more circuit breakers is incapable of reliable operation. The method includes, in response to a determination that the direct current component is above the predetermined threshold, blocking the direct current between the transformer neutral and a ground.

  • Publication number: 20180111430
Abstract: A system includes sensor modules, each associated with a wheel on a vehicle, and a receiver unit. Each sensor module calculates a rotation period associated with the wheel during turn mode vehicular motion and determines rotation direction of the associated wheel during straight vehicular motion. A data packet that includes a unique identifier for the sensor module, the rotation period, and the rotation direction are transmitted from each sensor module for receipt at the receiver unit. The receiver unit determines the steered wheels and non-steered wheels based on the rotation period, and the receiver unit can determine which wheels are on the right side or the left side of the vehicle based on the rotation direction. Knowledge of the steered and non-steered wheels and the rotation direction of the wheels, enables the receiver unit to assign locations of the sensor modules, and hence positions of the wheels of the vehicle.
