  • Patent number: 9976260
Abstract: The present invention provides multi-ply creped tissue products, and in particular embodiments creped wet pressed tissue products, having substantially higher per-ply basis weights, such as from about 20 to about 30 gsm, without the negative effects often associated with higher basis weight. As such, the tissue products are generally soft and flexible, having a softness value (measured as TS7) less than about 12.0 and a Stiffness Index less than about 20. While being soft and flexible, the instant tissue products are durable enough to withstand use, such as having a GMT greater than about 600 g/3? and a Burst Index greater than about 12.0.

  • Patent number: 9590940
Abstract: A disclosed example method to monitor an email system involves sending a first test email from a first email system to a second email system. The first test email is addressed to a first destination email address associated with the second email system and having first information identifying the first test email and the second email system. The example method also involves retrieving, from an email account having a second destination email address different from the first destination email address, a plurality of other test emails from other email systems being tested for operability. The other test emails include second information identifying corresponding ones of the other test emails and corresponding ones of the other email systems. The example method involves determining whether the first test email fails to arrive at the email account within a time period from the second email system.

  • Publication number: 20170027624
Abstract: An orthopedic device, such as an intramedullary nail for internal fixation of a bone and a method of manufacturing the same. The orthopedic device may be formed from a medical grade powder via an additive manufacturing process. The forming process may include heat treating the additive manufactured component and machining the heat treated additive manufactured component to form the orthopedic device. Further, the orthopedic device may be formed to include an internal sensor probe channel that extends within at least a portion of the wall of the device, but which does not protrude through an outer portion of the wall. Embodiments further include a dynamizing intramedullary nail that accommodate adjustments in the relative axial positions of one or more sections of the orthopedic device. The devise may include features in an inner region of the orthopedic device that may alter an elastic modulus of the orthopedic device.

  • Publication number: 20170027370
Abstract: The present inventive concept consists of a logic controlled submersion brewing device that operates reliably with minimal user interaction. The brewer employs a submersion brewing technique to ensure a uniform extraction of beverage from solid extraction media. The device may be programmable to start on a timer. Parameters of the brew program may be customizable including serving size and extraction settings. The device will use vapor pressure to forcibly move beverage liquid across a sieve thereby separating the liquid from spent extraction media. Reliability and repeatability of the separation procedure is enhanced using a novel method of pressure control.

  • Patent number: 9503803
Abstract: A media playback device has programmable signal processing capabilities and an input receiving signals representative of ambient noise. The media playback device identifies an output response characteristic and an attenuation characteristic of a set of headphones associated with the media playback device, predicts a property of audio output by the headphones at a user's ear based on the ambient noise input signal, the output response characteristic, and the attenuation characteristic of the headphones, predicts expected residual ambient noise at the user's ear, when wearing the headphones, derived from the ambient noise input signal and the attenuation characteristic, and modifies masking audio signals to be provided to the headphones such that they will mask the expected residual ambient noise at the user's ear.

  • Patent number: 8828015
Abstract: A chamfer resection guide assembly for effecting chamfer cuts into a resected distal surface of a femur in connection with a distal total knee implant has an anchor member configured for anterior referencing of the chamfer cuts, a block member including one or more cutting guide slots for guiding a cutting tool for making chamfer resections and a camming member. The camming member operably connects the block member and the anchor member and the position of the block member with respect to the anchor member is adjusted by operation of the camming member thus allowing adjustment of the position of the cutting guide slots with respect to the anchoring member.

  • Patent number: 8713118
Abstract: An example method to monitor an email system involves sending a test email to an email server. The email server is to automatically forward the test email to a plurality of email accounts of corresponding domains different from one another and different from the email system. When the test email does not arrive at the plurality of email accounts within a time period, a notification identifying the email server is generated. Other test emails are distinguished from the test email based on checksum values in subject fields of the test email and the other test emails. The other test emails correspond to different ones of a plurality of other email systems being tested for operability. Each checksum uniquely identifies a respective one of the test emails and a respective one of the email systems.

  • Patent number: 8669876
Abstract: An above-water system provides automatic alerting for possible drowning victims in swimming pools or the like. One or more electro-optical sensors are placed above the pool surface. Sequences of images are digitized and analyzed electronically to determine whether there are humans within the image, and whether such humans are moving in a manner that would suggest drowning. Effects due to glint, refraction, and variations in light, are offset automatically by the system. If a potential drowning incident is detected, the system produces an alarm sound, and/or a warning display, so that an operator can determine whether action must be taken.

  • Patent number: 8621451
Abstract: A computing device configured for improving the responsiveness of a computing device in connection with software distribution is described. The computing device includes a processor and executable instructions stored in memory that is in electronic communication with the processor. The computing device receives a return code and package information from a remote computing device. The computing device also looks up a code mapping in a cache, wherein the code mapping is based on the return code. The computing device further stores the package information in a database. The computing device furthermore displays the code mapping and the package information.

  • Patent number: 8224903
Abstract: An end to end email monitoring system which monitors and verifies the ability of a client mail system to send and receive email messages to and from local and remote networks. The monitor tests inbound email flow, internal email services, database availability, and outbound email flow. It uses checksums for precise identification and allows emails from multiple client environments to arrive in a single, shared Internet test account. The use of multiple targets for email verification eliminates false positives due to a single email destination being unavailable. Moreover, SNMP alerting is used in addition to email alerting to provide an out of band notification method. The SNMP alerting has been enhanced to send the identification of the tested email server as the source. The monitor stores historical information for 45 days and can produce detailed reports summarizing outage events and delay occurrences in addition to providing real-time alerts.

  • Publication number: 20110077664
Abstract: A device for processing harvested dermal tissue includes a body having a cutting head portion and a handle portion extending from the cutting head portion. The cutting head portion defines a chamber. A cutting assembly is disposed in the chamber and includes a plurality of blades and a flexible spacer member disposed on the axle such that the blades rotate as the axle rotates. Each of the plurality of blades is separated from an adjacent blade by a spacer disposed on the axle. A grill assembly is coupled to the body and includes a grill and a grill cap. The grill has a plurality of spaced apart slots sized and configured to receive the blades and maintain the blades in a position with respect to the body. The grill cap is sized and configured to couple the grill to the cutting head portion of the body.
