  • Patent number: 11672979
Abstract: A system to induce electrical muscle relaxation for airway management. The illustrative system includes a power control system targeted to relax muscles associated with an airway channel, and more particularly, to assist in human intubation by placement of an endotracheal tube within the trachea of a patient, mask ventilation, and/or resolution of laryngospasm. The relaxation of the muscles is achieved through external stimulation of nerves through the skin by an output electrical current pattern applied by the power control system. The illustrative system is configured to independently regulate an output current frequency and an output current amplitude of the output electrical current pattern.

  • Patent number: 10149083
Abstract: In an audio processing system a center point stereo sound processor in combination with a digital transducer alignment sound processor converts regular left and right stereo audio source signals to sum and difference signals, enabling a center stage spatialized stereo acoustic image to be created directly from a forward-directed loudspeaker unit and a sideways-directed dipole loud speaker unit. The forward-directed loudspeaker unit includes one vertically-mounted loudspeaker. The sideways-directed dipole loudspeaker unit is located directly below and to the sides of the forward-directed loudspeaker unit and includes two speaker cones connected in parallel and wired out of phase with each other. The center point stereo sound processor receives a left and right, stereo, audio signal source and converts the left and right signals into sum and difference signals. The sum, left plus right signal drives the forward-directed loudspeaker unit.

  • Patent number: 9961424
Abstract: Our audio cabinet includes a recess in a cabinet wall in which is seated a control panel comprising a rigid plate bent to form a first planar section and a second planar section connected together by a slanted planar section. An exposed face surface of the slanted planar section includes at least one socket for inserting a plug of a cable. The rigid plate has a configuration that is complementary to the configuration of a perimeter of the recess so the plate fits within the recess with the exposed face surface facing the one side of the enclosure. With the plate seated in the recess the socket faces the one side of the enclosure and the exposed face of the slanted section is offset a predetermined distance from said one side to provide clearance for the plug to be inserted into the socket. The dimensions of the recess and angles of the plate are arranged such that an inserted plug is protected from contact with the floor if the audio cabinet is toppled over.

Abstract: The invention provides purified ACT-4 receptor polypeptides, antibodies against these polypeptides and nucleic acids encoding ACT-4 receptor polypeptides. Also provided are methods of diagnosis and treatment using the same. ACT-4 receptors are preferentially expressed on the surface of activated CD4+ T-cells. ACT-4 receptors are usually expressed at low levels on the surface of activated CD8+ cells, and are usually substantially absent on resting T-cells, and on monocytes and B-cells (resting or activated). An exemplary ACT-4 receptor, termed ACT-4-h-1, has a signal sequence, an extracellular domain comprising three disulfide-bonded intrachain loops, a transmembrane domain, and an intracellular domain.
