Patent number: 6672476Abstract: A housing has two side walls extend upwardly from a floor to define a channel extending between a primer inlet and a primer outlet. A lanyard clip is fastened to the side walls adjacent the primer inlet, compressing the clip releases it, allowing primers to be loaded through the primer inlet. A spring is riveted to the housing floor with a protruding spacer segment facing the primer inlet, and a restraint segment facing the outlet. Multiple primers are restrained between the spring spacer segment and the primer inlet, yet the spacer segment may be deflected by pushing a primer toward the primer outlet until it is positioned on the restraint segment, and presented for engagement on the primer holder of an in-line action muzzleloading rifle. Pulling the dispenser displaces the primer to move along and depress the restraint segment, and dispensing it. A floor cut-out acts as a decapper.Type: GrantFiled: December 13, 2000Date of Patent: January 6, 2004Assignee: Cash Manufacturing Co., Inc.Inventors: Tedd D. Cash, David A. Butler

Publication number: 20030233378Abstract: An apparatus and method for reconciling resources in a managed region of a resource management system. With the apparatus and method, an object database storing objects associated with resources managed by the resource management server is queried to generate a resource file. The resource file identifies the resources managed or available in the managed region of the resource management server. A resource file is also generated for a target resource management server. The differences between the two resource files are then identified and stored in a differences file. The differences file is then used to duplicate those resources that are managed by the first resource management server but are not managed by the target resource management server. In this way, the resources available through the first resource management server will also be available through the target resource management server and services may be obtained across managed region boundaries without a change in the way the service is implemented.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 13, 2002Publication date: December 18, 2003Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Walter David Butler, Oluyemi Babatunde Saka

Publication number: 20030161296Abstract: This invention relates to the field of telecommunications. More particularly, this invention is a method and system for providing a service level executable environment in a telecommunications network linking a PSTN and a packet network. With reference to FIG. 3, the service level executable environment (34) includes a scripting language, a compiler adapted to compile scripts written with the scripting language, and a plurality of dynamically loaded shared libraries, wherein the dynamically loaded shared libraries are distributed over the IP network (107) and executables from the compiler can utilize dynamically loaded shared libraries from different locations in the IP network (107). The invention includes signaling gateways (10) connected to an SS7 network (90) for support of PSTN (92) signaling; service switches (14) coupled to the signaling gateways; and media gateways (16) for interworking the IP network (107) and the PSTN (92).Type: ApplicationFiled: July 18, 2002Publication date: August 28, 2003Inventors: David Butler, R. Publication number: 20030097381Abstract: A coordinating push and user-initiated synchronization method and system. Initially, changes to a local application data store are detected and records affected by the change are identified. At some point, a record affected by a detected change is pushed to a remote system where it is ascertained whether the pushed record, in its current form as affected by the detected change, has already been replicated in or deleted from a remote application data store through user-initiated synchronization. If not, the pushed record is used to update the remote application data store. Instead, at some point it may be ascertained whether the identified record, in its current form as affected by the detected change, has been replicated in or deleted from the remote application data store through push synchronization as just described. If not, the remote application data store is synchronized with the local application data store.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 19, 2001Publication date: May 22, 2003Inventors: Richard Detweiler, David Butler, Srinivasan Ramanujam, Scott A. Publication number: 20030018585Abstract: There is provided a method and system of processing electronic transactions involving three parties, normally remote from one another. A service requestor(SR) requests a good or service from a service provider(SP) on the condition that certain terms will be fulfilled indicating that the good or service is provided at a particular standard. The service provider registers with a reputation authority terms for the supply of a good or service. Independently the service requestor acquires from the reputation authority a public key for which the private key is kept by the reputation authority. The service requestor(30) requests the service provider(20) for a good or service according to certain terms and the request is sent to the reputation authority which compares registered terms with the requested terms and if compatible signs the transaction with the retained private key and sends the signed transaction back to the service requestor.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 26, 2002Publication date: January 23, 2003Applicant: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Nicholas David Butler, Christopher Raymond Gibson, Christopher Edward Sharp

Patent number: 6460057Abstract: An interactive voice response (IVR) system comprises many different application objects which combine to deliver a voice application. These objects typically include IVR programs or scripts, prompts or voice segments and server scripts or programs for communicating with external systems or databases. Large voice applications can contain hundreds of application objects and potentially thousands of voice segments. The grouping of the application objects becomes more important in the later stages of the process. There is described a method of grouping data objects having different data categories, such as IVR programs or scripts, prompts or voice segments, in an application processing system.Type: GrantFiled: April 15, 1998Date of Patent: October 1, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Nicholas David Butler, Philip Randall Coxhead, Rachel Edwina Jackson, Sanjay Nagchowdhury

Patent number: 6335964Abstract: A voice processing system is connected to a switch via multiple telephone lines, and provides a set of line objects, each line object being associated with one of the physical telephone lines. The line object allows a demarcation to be made between the underlying voice processing system software, and external business applications. Thus a line object supports a set of methods such as Get DTMF Tone, Play Audio, Answer Call, and End Call, to allow the external business applications to perform desired operations on a telephone line. These methods are invoked via a set of corresponding IVR action objects, which in turn are integrated into the business application. The business application itself, and its IVR actions, regard the line objects effectively as servers to provide IVR functionality. The business application may therefore run partially or completely on a separate physical machine from the IVR system itself.Type: GrantFiled: April 29, 1998Date of Patent: January 1, 2002Assignee: International Business Machines Corp.Inventors: Ronald John Bowater, Nicholas David Butler, David Andrew Clarke, David Seager Renshaw, Graham Hugh Tuttle

Patent number: 5970126Abstract: The present invention relates to establishing a communication channel between two communication systems having computer telephony integration (CTI). Many CTI systems are configured into incoming and outgoing lines according to the anticipated demands. Consequently, if sufficient outgoing or incoming capacity is unavailable at a given time to support a communication channel of required characteristics, the users of such a system must conventionally wait until sufficient capacity becomes available. However, the present invention determines who the intended addressee is and can instruct the CTI system associated with that addressee to instigate the establishment of a communication channel to the user who originally desired the connection. The instructions can be sent to the intended addressee using for example, another communication network, such as the Internet or other data communications network.Type: GrantFiled: June 3, 1997Date of Patent: October 19, 1999Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Ronald John Bowater, Nicholas David Butler, David Andrew Clarke, Stephen Graham Copinger Lawrence
