Publication number: 20230191491Abstract: An additive manufacturing process comprising adding a support to an object model to create a modified object model f an object with a support to be built. The support extends from an object end coupled to the object to a distal end to be engaged with a carrier to support the object. A build model is created by arranging the modified object model within a virtual build volume with the distal end of the support at a defined location within the virtual build volume. Instructions are then provided to build a build cake corresponding to the build model, the build cake comprising the object with support and non-solidified build material.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2020Publication date: June 22, 2023Inventors: Jorge Diosdado Borrego, David Claramunt Morera, David Chanclon Fernandez, Pablo Antonio Murciego Rodriguez

Patent number: 9844953Abstract: In some examples, a first heating stage heats a print medium to a first temperature in a printing region when printing latex ink on the print medium, and a curing heating stage heats, in a curing zone, the print medium to a curing temperature greater than the first temperature to cure the latex ink on the print medium. A cooling stage located between the first and curing heating stages cools the print medium by directing a first part of airflow from the cooling stage to a printing zone, the cooling performed after the print medium has been heated by the first heating stage and prior to heating of the print medium by the curing heating stage. A second part of the airflow is directed from the cooling stage to the curing zone.Type: GrantFiled: March 3, 2016Date of Patent: December 19, 2017Assignee: Hewlett-Packard Development Company, L.P.Inventors: Antonio Monclus, David Claramunt, Ezequiel Jordi Rufes, Cristina Sabater, Francisco Javier Rodriguez, Francisco Guerrero

Patent number: 9427990Abstract: Systems and methods for printing are described. One example is a tension module for a printer including a throughput roller including a length to diameter ratio of at least 10:1 and a material on the surface thereof having a friction coefficient value less than 1. In addition, the module includes a plurality of pinch rollers arranged parallel to the throughput roller and, the pinch rollers supporting the throughput roller and providing a pressure on a print medium when passed along the throughput roller. Further, the module includes a motor to rotate the throughput roller. Still further, the module includes a tension lever including a plurality of stops, each of the stops being associated with one of a plurality of tension settings.
