  • Patent number: 9864911
Abstract: Imaging data regarding an interior portion of a storage vessel may be obtained from an imaging device (e.g., a digital camera or depth sensor) and interpreted in order to identify an available volume within the storage vessel. Where the imaging data includes an image of an interior of the storage vessel, an area of one or more contiguous spaces of a rear face of the storage vessel may be identified from the image and multiplied by a depth of the storage vessel in order to estimate the available volume. Where the imaging data includes a depth profile of the interior, the depth profile may be processed in order to estimate the available volume. Once an available volume has been estimated, the capacity of the available volume to accommodate one or more additional items may be determined, and information regarding the capacity may be provided to a user.

  • Patent number: 9749860
Abstract: A peer-to-peer wireless connection is established between a mobile client computing device and a server computing device, and information is communicated between the mobile client computing device and the server computing device over this connection. The information is sufficient for the server computing device and/or the mobile client computing device to authenticate the mobile client computing device with the server computing device. After the mobile client computing device has been authenticated with the server computing device, a user of the mobile client computing device is permitted to perform management tasks on the server computing device using the mobile client computing device, such as over the peer-to-peer wireless connection. For example, license keys can be moved from the mobile client computing device to the server computing device to upgrade the server computing device, and from the server computing device to the mobile computing device to downgrade the server computing device.

  • Patent number: 9703293
Abstract: An aircraft stall protection system and method include calculating a first angle of attack and a second angle of attack based on aircraft configuration and environmental conditions, the first angle of attack being greater than the second angle of attack. The system and method limit the actual aircraft angle of attack to the first angle of attack for a predetermined period of time and thereafter the system and method limit the actual aircraft angle of attack to the second angle of attack. The system and method allow the aircraft operator or pilot to extract maximum performance from the aircraft for any given set of flight conditions, without the risk of stalling or remaining in a high drag state for a prolonged period of time. This system and method are suitable for use in conjunction with a stall warning system.

  • Patent number: 9674275
Abstract: Techniques are described for providing a file system interface for use with network-accessible computing resources (e.g., located in a data center). A client computing device of a user may display information regarding at least some such computing resources to the user using a visual representation of a hierarchical file system (e.g., with the computing resources organized hierarchically), and allow standard file system commands to manipulate the computing resources, despite them not actually being part of a file system. Particular combinations of a file system command and a type of computing resource may be mapped to associated operations, which implement actions for computing resources of that type corresponding to functionality of that file system command. In some situations, the computing resources are provided by an online service, such as a configurable network service providing virtual computer networks to clients.

  • Patent number: 9637222
Abstract: Multi-axis pivot assemblies for control sticks and associated systems and methods are disclosed herein. A multi-axis pivot assembly in accordance with an embodiment of the present technology can include, for example, an input shaft, a first axis output shaft coupled to the input shaft, and a second axis output shaft coupled to the input shaft via a series of linkages and pivoting joints. The first and second axis output shafts rotated about corresponding first and second fixed bearing sets to capture a first axis output and a second axis output. The series of linkages are configured to decouple first axis movement of the input shaft from second axis movement of the input shaft such that the second axis output is substantially independent of the first axis output.

  • Publication number: 20170093831
Abstract: A user who is currently unauthorized to access a resource sends a request to access the resource. It is determined whether a number of authorized users of the resource who have indicated that the user should be permitted to access the resource satisfies the threshold condition. If the number of authorized users who have indicated that the user should be permitted access satisfies the threshold condition, the user is permitted to access the resource. The threshold condition can be based on replies received responsive to messages sent to the authorized users of the resource asking whether the user should be permitted to access the resource. The threshold condition can be based on public digital keys of the authorized users from the user.
