  • Patent number: 10173052
Abstract: Guidewires and methods for transmitting electrical stimuli to a heart and for guiding and supporting the delivery of elongate treatment devices within the heart are disclosed. A guidewire can comprise an elongate body, including first and second elongate conductors, and at least first and second electrodes. A distal end portion of the elongate body can include a preformed bias shape, such as a pigtail-shaped region, on which the first and second electrodes can be located. The preformed bias shape can optionally be non-coplanar relative to an intermediate portion of the elongate body. The first and second elongate conductors can be formed of a single structure or two or more electrically connected structures. The conductors can extend from proximal end portions to distal end portions that electrically connect to the first and second electrodes.

  • Patent number: 10169927
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for presenting information pertaining to the health of one or more mechanical components of a vehicle. One exemplary method involves a client device initiating an ad hoc wireless connection with a monitoring system onboard the vehicle, requesting status information for the vehicle from the monitoring system via the ad hoc wireless connection, and receiving the status information for the vehicle from the monitoring system via the ad hoc wireless connection. The monitoring system generates the status information based at least in part on measurement data obtained from one or more sensor systems during operation of the vehicle and provides the status information in response the request. The client device processes the status information present the one or more graphical representations of the current condition of the one or more mechanical components of the vehicle on the client device.

  • Publication number: 20180374031
Abstract: Transportation plan adjustments based on recommended shipping packages may utilize a shipment data model for a facility that is updated with cubic volumes of recommended packages for received orders. The shipment data model may also be updated with the cubic volumes of the packages that are actually used to pack the orders and transportation utilization data such as assignment of packages to particular transportation resources. A transportation plan may be updated based on the updated shipment data model and transportation utilization data such as which transportation resources have left the facility and how much of the available cubic volume of the resource was used when the resource left the facility. The transportation plan may be updated at times associated with transportation resource change deadlines from one or more transportation resource providers. Adjustments to previously scheduled transportation resources may be made based on the updated transportation plan.

  • Patent number: 10145562
Abstract: A steam-based faux fireplace comprising a boiler configured to receive a fluid and generate steam, and a manifold configured to receive the steam from the boiler and emit the steam to generate a steam plume at an output. A very realistic faux flame with a significant length is generated from the low power boiler. The manifold includes a deflector configured to receive directly impinging steam directed thereat from the output, causing the steam to lose some energy and velocity, and turbulently billow about the deflector. The turbulently billowing steam is illuminated to create a realistically looking flame.

  • Publication number: 20180195730
Abstract: A steam-based faux fireplace comprising a boiler configured to receive a fluid and generate steam, and a manifold configured to receive the steam from the boiler and emit the steam to generate a steam plume at an output. The manifold has a conduit configured to receive fluid from a reservoir and route the fluid about the manifold to heat the fluid before being routed to the boiler. The manifold is already heated due to the emitted steam. This configuration pre-heats the fluid before being presented to the boiler, allowing a smaller low power boiler to be used because the manifold acts as a fluid pre-heater. A very realistic faux flame with a significant length is generated from the low power boiler. In addition, the manifold includes a deflector configured to receive the impinging steam from the output, causing the steam to lose some energy and billow about the deflector and then illuminated to create a realistically looking flame.

  • Patent number: 9968838
Abstract: An exemplary martial arts training device comprises anatomically correct legs, arms, torso and head that can be used individually, or partly or fully assembled. A user interacts with the device, and receives both immediate feedback and a global analysis of his training session. Feedback can include whether proper forces and angles were applied to achieve an actual break or other desired fighting goal in an opponent, and can be measured by the actual breaking of various strike points on the device, or by alerting the user when an appropriate sensor is struck with the required strength. The device can include breakable joints, bones, as well as soft tissue targets preset to respond to a defined striking force or joint manipulation. The user can reset the damaged physical structure or response sensor to its original configuration and setting, making the device repeatedly reusable.

  • Publication number: 20180132002
Abstract: Example embodiments provide a system and method for dynamically triggering display of recommendations during an end-of-show period. A digital receiver identifies an end-of-show period for a piece of digital content. The end-of-show period indicates a portion at an end of the piece of digital content during which display of recommendations can be triggered. The digital receiver monitors for a motion indication signal from a remote control device. In response to both playback of the piece of digital content being within the end-of-show period and a determination that the motion indication signal is received, the digital receiver causes immediate display of one or more recommendations of further digital content.

  • Patent number: 9953287
Abstract: This disclosure describes a system and method for utilizing an automated aerial vehicle for rapidly transporting a priority pick item when an exception occurs (e.g., an item that was to be picked from another location or otherwise processed is found to be missing or damaged). In some implementations, a priority pick instruction may be generated that directs picking of the item from an alternative location after which the item may be transported by the automated aerial vehicle to a processing location (e.g., a problem solve station). A flight path may be determined which may have starting and ending points at designated locations where the automated aerial vehicle can safely land and take off for acquiring and/or delivering the priority pick item.

  • Patent number: 9935931
Abstract: A user who is currently unauthorized to access a resource sends a request to access the resource. It is determined whether a number of authorized users of the resource who have indicated that the user should be permitted to access the resource satisfies the threshold condition. If the number of authorized users who have indicated that the user should be permitted access satisfies the threshold condition, the user is permitted to access the resource. The threshold condition can be based on replies received responsive to messages sent to the authorized users of the resource asking whether the user should be permitted to access the resource. The threshold condition can be based on public digital keys of the authorized users from the user.

  • Publication number: 20180070121
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and displaying a non-time bound content channel in a time-bound grid is provided. The system comprises receiving content data representing non-time bound content to be displayed in the time bound grid. The system generates the time bound grid, by creating, based on the content data, a non-time bound content channel. The non-time bound content channel displays one or more content objects representing the non-time bound content in the time bound grid. The system incorporates the non-time bound content channel with a plurality of time bound channels in the time bound grid. The system then causes display of the generated time bound grid on a viewing device of a user.

  • Publication number: 20180070138
Abstract: Systems and methods for generating and displaying groupings of content recommendations using personas are provided. The system determines content for each of the plurality of personas. The determined content for each of the plurality of personas comprises content that shares a common genre or theme for each persona. The system populates each of the plurality of personas using the determined content for each of the plurality of personas. The system then causes display of at least some of the plurality of personas on a viewing device of a user. The at least some of the plurality of personas is selected for the user based on device data corresponding to the user, whereby the device data indicates user preferences and interactions with previous content.
