  • Patent number: 8147785
Abstract: Combustion flue gas containing NOX and SOX is treated to remove NOX in a multistep system in which NOX is reduced in the flue gas stream via selective catalytic reduction or selective non-catalytic reduction with ammonia or an ammonia-forming compound, followed treatment with hydrogen peroxide to remove residual ammonia and, optionally, treatment with an alkali reagent to reduce residual NOX in the flue gas stream. The NOX-depleted flue gas stream may also be subjected to a desulfurization treatment for removal of SOX.

  • Patent number: 8076988
Abstract: Circuitry and methods are provided. Voltage and current of an electrical load are detected, scaled and biased to derive respective voltage and current signals. Frequency-modulated signals corresponding to the voltage and current signals are respectively derived. The frequency-modulated signals are communicated between different electrical domains by way of optical isolation barriers. The frequency-modulated signals are processed to improve linearity and to time-correlate the signals to discrete samplings of the load voltage and current. Control of a printer or other device is performed using the processed signals.

  • Patent number: 7913764
Abstract: Systems and methods for drilling a well bore in a subsea formation from an offshore structure positioned on a water surface with a drill string that is suspended from the structure and includes a bottom hole assembly adapted to form a top hole portion of the well bore. A drilling fluid source on the offshore structure supplies drilling fluid through the drill string to the bottom hole assembly where the drilling fluid exits from the bottom hole assembly during drilling and returns up the well bore. A suction module is disposed at the sea floor and collects the drilling fluid emerging from the well bore. A pump module is disposed on a return line, which is in fluid communication with the suction module, at a position below the water surface and above the sea floor. The pump module is operable to receive drilling fluid from the suction module and pump the drilling fluid through the return pipe to the same offshore structure or a different offshore structure.

  • Patent number: 7911286
Abstract: Circuitry and methods are provided. Voltage and current of an electrical load are scaled, biased and alternately sampled to derive a multiplexed signal. The multiplexed signal is used to control an oscillator so as to provide a multiplexed frequency-modulated signal. The multiplexed frequency-modulated signal is processed to improve linearity and to time-correlate signal content with discrete samplings of the load voltage and current. Control of a printer or other device is performed using the processed signal.

  • Publication number: 20110014106
Abstract: Combustion flue gas containing SOX is treated to remove SOX using a dry particulate sorbent injection procedure in which a sodium-based sorbent precursor is calcined immediately prior to its introduction into the flue gas stream, to activate the sorbent for reaction with SOX. The sorbent precursor is a NaHCO3-containing compound, and trona is preferred as the sorbent precursor.

  • Patent number: 7793117
Abstract: Embodiments of determining power to be supplied to a load are disclosed. In one embodiment, the method includes determining an amount of power to supply to a load included in a first system having a plurality of loads, using a relationship between a change in the voltage provided by a power source to the first system caused due to a current drawn by one or more other systems coupled to the power source and a corresponding change in current supplied by the power source to the first system monitored over a predetermined time interval, to reduce a magnitude of the change in the voltage resulting from the power source, and causing the determined amount of the power to be supplied to the load.
